As a clinical psychologist and Jungian psychoanalyst I specifically enjoy working with people at a deeper level.
Welcome! I believe that one of the essential ingredients of change and transformative psychotherapy is the relationship between the individual and the therapist. Feeling understood and comfortable only helps reduce one's symptoms, encouraging self-acceptance, but also leads toward deeper work which promotes lasting change and a deeper experience of one's whole self.

I have a background in depth psychology and work through Jungian , Self-Object, and Archetypal Psychology perspectives.
I provide quality mental health counseling and therapy that is thoughtfully tailored to your needs. Our work together will address concerns in an empowering and centering way that produces substantive change. My approach is connective (Therapy works best when we are able to connect and work well together) and directive (by directive I mean that I give things for you to do during the week like writing, journaling, reading, exercises, reflections, and/or activities). I'm known for being helpful with people who have been through therapy and haven't had success. I help people find aliveness, creativity, and strength.

I work from a Jungian and feminist framework.
Therapy can be a radical process of transformation providing healing, greater sense of belonging, emotional freedom, and hope. Often clients present with an idea of what's causing them concern but people also come to therapy with just a sense that something isn’t right or their life could be better in some way. I view therapy as a dynamic collaboration that allows for the exploration of current circumstances as well as the discovery of underlying personal and cultural patterns. In addressing the whole person and their cultural context, we can find not only easing or resolution of symptoms but also a fuller and more meaningful life.

"The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are" (Jung). As a bilingual (Spanish/English) and bi-cultural Jungian Psychoanalyst and psychotherapist, I help people to consciously reconnect with their inner life in order to heal themselves. While damage to such connection usually creates a variety of psychological difficulties, reverence to the inner wisdom is a contemplative stance of active listening to the interior music that heals and that connect us with the immensity of our inner life. The inner life has an intelligence that corrects and compensates the psychological imbalances that have created emotional challenges.

As a Jungian analyst, I take an active part in understanding what underlies your symptoms.
I see therapy as an opportunity for fostering personal growth and achieving emotional maturity. We all face challenges and struggles at various points in our lives. Failure to overcome these challenges can lead to feelings of anxiety and depression and may impact one's relationship with family and friends. While we can't change the past, therapy can help uncover long-standing patterns and behaviors that can get in the way of fulfilling relationships with ourselves and others. I will help you understand the problems you are facing and find meaning and solutions that work best for you.

Hi, I’m Stephanie! I am a bilingual, bicultural therapist and second-generation Mexican-American. Growing up, I observed the stigmatized view of mental health issues and therapy. These moments inspired me to pursue a career in mental health, to create a safe space for voices to be heard, to break barriers and promote moments of vulnerability, and healing. I not only empathize with my clients but I am also committed to compassion therapy and mental health practices through healing and education.

Your life is as it is because of the story you tell. No matter what happens on the outside it’s what happens on the inside that counts. But society wants us to keep looking out there for happiness and meaning, making us unwitting slaves. The first step is to create a sanctuary of silent solitude where your inner life has a chance to breath and unfold its reality. Having someone to talk to from inside that sacred space makes the journey real, gives it dignity and value. I watch for the connections that already exist between your soul and the life you are creating, in the archetypes that arise. Together we map your soul's landscape.

Therapy transformed my life when I was referred to a counselor years ago as a teen. Since then, I have wanted to provide this type of support and to serve as a guide for others through difficult times in life. I aspire to help my clients tap into their own inner strengths, so they can ultimately live more freely, fully and authentically. I take a client-centered approach, and help my clients identify their own goals for themselves.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
