I also utilize other evidence-based modalities such as IFS, Somatic Experiencing, CBT, DBT, and ACT in my work.
Every person has the potential to live with more freedom, joy, ease, and love, and therapy supports us to realize this potential. Many of my clients have experienced various forms of relational trauma — including wounding that has occurred in intimate relationships or in childhood — and yearn to heal from these experiences and find healthier ways of dealing with addiction or problematic substance use, stress, anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, relationship difficulties, and other challenging emotions. My goal is to help you live with more peace, acceptance, autonomy, confidence, satisfaction, intimacy, and joy.

I gravitate towards using attachment work, polyvagal theory, somatic/body work, and parts/inner-child work.
I believe everyone has their own story and deserves a space where their experiences are understood. This belief shapes my practice, which is especially focused on supporting women of color, adult children of immigrant parents, individuals working to manage their anxiety/overthinking, & individuals exploring their spirituality, cultural identity, self-worth, & relationship attachments. I am also dedicated to supporting couples, as I believe that our connections with others are fundamental to the healing process. I value honesty, directness, and openness in my communication style and I work best with clients who share similar traits.

I use a combination of modalities to guide our work, namely tenets of somatic trauma healing and psychodynamic psychology.
In our work together, we will develop useful mindfulness and somatic practices that allow you to harness your own wellness. I believe that everyone has the tools for their own healing; my role is to help you reconnect with those resources you inherently have. I am fully licensed in Illinois, Michigan, and Washington.

I'm trauma-informed and utilize ACT, CBT, mindfulness, neurology, somatic healing and more.
I work with business owners who want a space where life, leadership, or both can be explored in meaningful ways—without needing to compartmentalize. Some clients come in to talk through burnout or business strategy, while others are here for personal growth—processing things like anxiety, breakup recovery, or self-doubt. And when work/life balance starts to get challenging, we’ll take a closer look at what’s driving the stress, create emotional boundaries where needed, and work through the patterns that shape how you show up in both spaces.

I specialize in bottom-up brain approaches such as EMDR, Sandtray therapy, and use other expressive arts and somatic techniques.
I have worked with kids, families, and individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and looking at the need behind the behavior. It's important for us to be curious at what the need underlying thoughts, feelings and actions. Often, if we can work on strategies to help regulate, we find that thoughts, feelings, or actions feel less overwhelming and stressful.

I also use body-based techniques like mindfulness especially for trauma recovery, in tandem with somatic experiential visualizations, narrative therapy, and DBT.
The clients who are the best fit for my clinical approach tend to be people who want to build a stronger sense of self, learn how to center their own needs, and are looking to foster more self-love and confidence. The clients I work with want to change their relationship with themselves to be more compassionate and loving. They are recovering people pleasers, people who want to learn to be more assertive, often have unresolved trauma, and are ready to break cycles that no longer serve them. They seek support from me to discuss building capacity, dating, relationships, childhood traumas, identity, and healing from abuse and neglect.

Using a combination of EMDR, ACT, IFS, mindfulness, and somatic-based tools, we’ll recalibrate your nervous system.
It’s difficult to predict how you’ll feel from one moment to the next. A second ago, you were keyed up; every muscle in your body tense and on high alert, ready for danger to strike. Now, you’re completely checked out, numb to the world, sleepwalking through the day. You know this isn’t a sustainable way to live, but you’re not sure how else to cope with the painful wounds of your past. It’s as though you can no longer trust yourself to differentiate between safe and threatening situations, so you avoid everything. You’re struggling at work and growing more distant from your loved ones each day. Something needs to change, and soon.

I utilize various modalities such as solution-focused, narrative, ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy), somatic (mind-body connection) and creative interventions along with warmth and empathy to nurture the therapeutic relationship and generate self-awareness and self-compassion.
I'm a first-generation South Asian-American art therapist & counselor who holds space for creative expression and healing through a collaborative, anti-oppressive, and affirming lens. I work to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and comforting space for my clients. In this space, we can explore feelings, tap into curiosities, ask questions, share experiences, laugh, cry, and celebrate successes, big or small. Although therapy is an experience that the client and therapist embark on together, I believe that each client has the ability to harness their strengths to find a path that gives them meaning and purpose.

Together, we will create space for deep reflection and/or somatic experiencing to better understand yourself, your grief, and your relationships.
Through a collaborative and direct approach, I help children, teens, and adults identify all parts of themselves and understand why these parts might be causing harm while also trying to protect them. Through gentle curiosity, my clients learn to interact with their shame, anxiety, and grief differently, leading them to the meaningful life they deserve.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
