You want to work with someone who has ample experience; emphasizes care and discretion. Change doesn’t have to be disruptive or dramatic. Sometimes, it starts with a quiet decision to move toward something that speaks more deeply to who you are—and who you’re becoming. My approach is grounded, thoughtful, and practical. You’ll be surprised at how much you can discover in conversation—how much clearer things can become. We’ll talk, reflect, and build a path forward that feels right for you. That’s where I come in. My job isn’t to tell you what to do, but to help you pause, think more clearly, and decide how and when to make a change.

At different points in life we can find ourselves "stuck," feeling anxious, overwhelmed, defeated, exhausted, depressed, or feeling disconnected from ourselves or others. Sometimes something just feels "off." Therapy is an opportunity to make positive changes in one's life and relationships. By gaining an understanding of our needs, motives, and fears, we can move out of an "auto-pilot" mode and into an active role in our lives. I work alongside clients to help them develop awareness of their options, identify self-defeating patterns, and help remove the obstacles creating distress. Together we shed light on what has been neglected.

Not every struggle shows up on the surface, yet it can shape how we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. Many millennials find themselves navigating complex relationship dynamics, shifting identities, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and persistent self-doubt—often while feeling pressure to “have it all together.” I work with individuals who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, helping them make sense of their inner world with compassion and curiosity. As a relational, process-based therapist, I believe healing happens within a safe, collaborative relationship.

My person-centered, solution-focused methods provide the encouragement necessary for clients to see tangible results and quantifiable changes in their lives, attitude and self-esteem.
It is crucial to the human experience to feel validated for who we are — not for who we are trying to be or who we believe society expects us to be. When we are given the tools we need to embrace our true and authentic selves without shame or fear, we can live more openly, honestly, and freely. As a therapist, I strive to provide a warm, empathetic, understanding and fun atmosphere that allows clients to feel safe and fully accepted. Through an honest, direct, and nurturing approach, effective coping strategies can be discovered, values explored, and goals attained.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.
What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.
What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.
How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
