Life can be a journey of transitions and challenges. I recognize that the impact of change can be stressful on the mind and the body. As a bi-cultural therapist, I support individuals adjust to life transitions using culturally informed strength-based and mindful based approaches. I have experience providing trauma therapy to adults who have been affected by interpersonal violence and intergenerational trauma. I also recognize how chronic stress and trauma, as well as cultural factors, influence an individual’s sense of self.

I offer counseling for children (ages 4-10), adolescents (11 to 17), and their families. Together, we will identify goals and strategies that can alleviate emotional distress and improve behavior. I work with school counselors and teachers to strengthen the student's support system. I also work with couples who are experiencing relationship difficulties. At times, improving communication may seem to be the solution, and other times, the relationship may need deeper exploration to understand the dynamics that may be contributing to the relationship difficulties. I also offer individual counseling.

Knowing who they are at their core can help women be more authentic, decrease anxiety and depression , live purpose-filled, and more.
The Self Inside is a space for black women to heal from family and generational trauma. In the black community, our family is everything to us. While we are taught to always be there for our family, we are rarely taught what to do if our family is not supportive or even toxic to our wellbeing. The Self Inside is here to support black women as they discover who they are aside from who they thought they needed to be within their family.

I enjoy working with adults and adolescents struggling with issues related to self-esteem, relationships, eating disorders, anxiety, depression , substance abuse and difficult life transitions.
We all deserve to be happy and fulfilled in our relationships. However, healthy and meaningful relationships do not come without work. Whether it is with your intimate partner, friends, family or coworkers, the quality of our relationships has a direct impact on our mental health. I help individuals understand how their past experiences, sometimes traumatic, impact their present struggles related to anxiety, stress or depression , and often interfere with their ability to cultivate and maintain relationship satisfaction.

These techniques can provide healing for individuals with various issues, including depression , postpartum depression , anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, parenting issues, grief and loss, and life transitions.
Sometimes life presents us with difficult challenges and we feel lost. We may be haunted by trauma, feel stuck in relationships, have negative thoughts cycling around in our minds, and find that we are sabotaging ourselves. Changing life circumstances-both positive (like the birth of a child) or negative (loss of a job)-can cause anxiety and despair. I address these issues by fostering a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship where clients become more aware of their thoughts and feelings, make sense of their experiences, and move forward in their lives.

I'm focused on working with adolescents and adults who are adjusting to life challenges and transitions. I'm also interested in helping those with low self-esteem/self-worth, anxiety, depression , and trauma express their emotions and reclaim their power and narrative. As a South-Asian American woman, I recognize the importance of intersectionality. I strive to help clients celebrate their identity and, most importantly, create a space where they feel seen and heard. You are the expert of your story; I am simply a pillar of encouragement and support.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
