I offer an integration of psychotherapy and Yoga Therapy in tandem sessions. I am both a licensed health psychologist and a certified yoga therapist. My clients tend to be high functioning adults seeking private holistic therapy and pain relief. I assist with relationships, stress, back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, physical disabilities and medical conditions. Supported yoga postures, proper alignment, and longer holds facilitate deeper feeling, fuller opening, greater release. Yoga Therapy enhances rehabilitation of injuries naturally using gravity, tensegrity and breath to improve circulation and create more space in tight joints, relieving tension and fatigue, facilitating clarity and insight.
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, LPCC, NCC
My goal is to assist people in making sense of the changes all around us so that we can learn from them, rather than feel bogged down by them. If you've felt overwhelmed, if the things that used to get you through the day aren't cutting it anymore, and if you've realized it's time for something to change: give me a call. I work with folks navigating issues of identity and change within relationships, orientation, and spirituality. I also serve fellow therapists who have, understandably, recognized their own need for additional support in unprecedented times.

Do you just want to be happy again? Do you feel lost or stuck? Does it feel like something is missing? Life doesn’t have to be this way and reaching out to me is the first step in creating this change. I help clients take back control of their life, feel connected to themselves and others, and feel happy again. When you look in the mirror I want you to recognize the person staring back at you. Life with depression or anxiety can be overwhelming, suffocating and lonely. As a therapist, my goal is to help you live a life free of emotional pain, to have more good days than bad, to rediscover meaning and joy in all areas of life.
My goal as a therapist is to put you back in touch with your own unique voice and sense of self that allows you to thrive. I use a psychodynamic, existential approach to find solutions to the unique challenges your life contains. Through building on open and honest relationship, we will explore effective coping tools and new ways to look at persistent issues that effect you.
I have been working in the field of psychotherapy since 2004, helping clients cope primarily with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and life changes. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Missouri, and I taught Language Arts on the high school level for two years. As a teacher, the limits of the classroom environment prevented me from reaching many of my troubled students, which led me to pursue a graduate degree from Loyola University-Chicago in Community Counseling.
My approach to therapy is reflective, authentic and insight oriented, with an emphasis on creating a trusting and collaborative relationship. With more than 15 years experience working with individuals, couples and families, my practice is informed by clinical expertise in treating symptoms of trauma, depression, and anxiety. I also counsel for issues related to life transitions, complex relationships, intimacy, parenting, identity, grief and loss. I greet clients with openness and curiosity, engaging a process that best fits their individual needs.
In my work with children, adolescents, parents, and adult clients, my approach is based on a belief that the pathway to emotional well-being is to be found in the rich innermost realm of an individual's feelings, needs, and wishes. When pleasure, success, and a sense of mastery are interfered with, whether in relationships, school, work, or activities, I believe that taking the time to understand the underlying reasons is the surest route to greater self-esteem and realizing one's full potential.

Are you in a place where you feel the need to make changes in your life to improve your happiness and overall well-being? Maybe it's addressing your social drug/alcohol use, or wondering why you feel stuck, and feel the need to explore your intrinsic wants/needs. I believe there's an importance in empowering one's spirit, identifying blocks, and in learning new skills to strengthen one's ability to make wanted changes. I focus on enhancing existing strengths, encouraging mindfulness, and building coping skills to support these changes.
Many people struggle with finding who they really are. The self is intricately and beautifully complex. Ignoring any aspects of who we are always results in destructive consequences. Respecting your full humanity by acknowledging your emotional, social, intellectual, physical, & spiritual self will take you on a vulnerable, difficult, and yet fully rewarding journey.
Exploring our losses, challenges and fears, as well as our successes and strengths, can be both difficult and rewarding. I seek to create an open, accepting and creative environment for this exploration. We can look to understand your goals and challenges, as well as develop more immediate skills in managing disruptive symptoms. In our first session we can discuss what brings you to therapy now, and what you hope to achieve.

My life’s work is strengthening the LGBTQ community from the inside out. I do this by working with gay men to live the lives they desire. What often holds us back are layers of expectations and belief systems that we take on from society, our families, and others. When these systemic messages conflict with our authentic selves, this creates a dissonance that often results in anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. This isn’t something that is broken or bad in us. Quite the opposite, it’s our authentic selves yearning to be expressed!
I am a licensed clinical social worker who is passionate about seeing others thrive. I feel honored to be a therapist and do my best to emphatically understand my clients’ thoughts, feelings, and behavior. I believe that the verbal sharing of experiences in a therapeutic relationship allows my clients to gain insight, develop awareness and foster growth. I feel that the therapeutic relationship is the driver for change in therapy.
