Is your child or teen struggling with anxiety, depression, parental divorce, making friends, or challenges that come with an Autism Spectrum Disorder? Are you a young adult experiencing a life transition, relationship difficulties or grief and loss? If so, psychotherapy can help. My goal is not to provide strategies that simply lead to short term relief, but to work with you or your child to reduce symptoms quickly, while creating long-lasting change- a process that I believe only occurs in the context of a safe and trusting relationship.

I am interested in the queer and adolescent populations, but will see any and all clients.
I identify as a queer person of color and hope to best serve those communities who feel underrepresented in professional fields. Common areas that I work with are trauma, gender identity and expression, gender issues, career related difficulties, and mood/anxiety disorders. I work heavily with the linguistic ways we approach "problems" and through a narrative approach we would work on creating the future you want to see.

Do you find it so difficult to focus that it interferes with your work, school, or relationships? Do you or your teen become easily distracted? Is it really hard to remain organized despite your best efforts? Inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity are three common problems associated with ADHD, which affects about 5% of people. It is much more serious than just having trouble concentrating. ADHD creates real difficulties for teens and college students at school, presents barriers to adults' success at work, and strains relationships between people with ADHD and those who care about them.

Throughout all stages of life, there are many obstacles we face. If you or your child are facing any challenges, I am here to help you navigate through them and come out on the other side more resilient and better equipped for the next. The populations I have worked with throughout my time practicing include adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, identity, and addictions. Working with the adolescent population, I believe that offering family therapy is also a part of the therapeutic process. I also work with parents to establish healthy boundaries and restore the family hierarchy.

I help people achieve healing and wellness in their lives by focusing on positivity and internal strengths. I believe the mind and the body connect and affect one another. This is why I believe therapy can help people who are feeling overwhelmed with big emotions, having difficulties with life transitions, struggling with past traumas, feeling anxieties over the future, repair or create healthy connections or relationships with others and obtain inner peace.

I offer counseling for children (ages 4-10), adolescents (11 to 17), and their families. Together, we will identify goals and strategies that can alleviate emotional distress and improve behavior. I work with school counselors and teachers to strengthen the student's support system. I also work with couples who are experiencing relationship difficulties. At times, improving communication may seem to be the solution, and other times, the relationship may need deeper exploration to understand the dynamics that may be contributing to the relationship difficulties. I also offer individual counseling.

This a group practice that employs clinicans of various ethnicities and backgrounds. People come to therapy due to feeling excessive stress at work, at home, or in their relationships. They find the pressures of everyday life have exceeded their abilities, overwhelmed their senses, and left them with an inability to cope. They are often having problems with school, completing tasks, getting along with others at work, and finding activities enjoyable. We believe in the resiliency of the human spirit, and that therapy is a process of exploring and getting to know oneself.

I understand the healing process as one of self-determination through therapeutic empathy. Being curious while employing sensitive honesty makes me a good fit for people who are open to exploring deeper personal and interpersonal connections. The lens of attachment, psychodynamic theory, and existential thought within ecological and systemic perspectives help me appreciate the pressures that impact quality of life issues. I am interested in working with individuals, couples, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds who find themselves struggling in relationships, depression, anxiety, complex trauma, psychosis, and grief/loss.

I love my work and I am thrilled to be a part of the global community that strives to bring an effective blend of experience, expertise, clarity, concern and action to the counseling process in order to provide genuine healing and wholeness to children, young adults, adults, marriages, and families. Over the last six years or so I have learned wonderful attachment therapies like Theraplay. This model, along with different Expressive therapy approaches, and EMDR protocols, have increased my desire to continue learning to be able to integrate the different trauma-informed practice with neuroscience.

Teen Therapists
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
