In our work together, my goal is to help you release anger , self-doubt, and a sense of failure to embrace success in your relationships, career, and other significant areas of life.
Yes! You are ready, and I am here to help! It is not always easy to seek help in a world in which you often feel unsafe, unseen, unprotected, and at times perceived as a threat. Far too often, you are met with unrealistic expectations on how you're "supposed" to feel and express emotions and what it means "to be a man." I have been able to transform the lives of teenagers and adults who've had significant difficulty managing stress, regulating their emotions, navigating social situations, and processing loss and grief.

I am well versed in the pharmacology and neurobiology of addiction, alternative approaches to the 12 steps, anger management , CBT, the Matrix approach to addictions treatment (evidence based) and mindfulness-based approaches.
I have worked with people from all walks of life for over two decades. I am goal-oriented, like to get to the point, and work with you to offer real-life solutions, instead of staying stuck in the past. Yes, I'm compassionate and gently curious too, but I like to get down to nitty-gritty and get you feeling better ASAP. I also have a degree in philosophy and enjoy helping people look for meaning in their lives if that is what they need to feel better about themselves

I work with adults and couples and specialize in men’s issues, anxiety, addiction, depression, anger management , and traumatic backgrounds.
It is okay to talk about it. Life brings unexpected and difficult challenges that leave us feeling lost and unsure. Grief, trauma, relationship struggles, life transition, work-related issues, addiction, existential or spiritual doubts, and persistent feelings of guilt, shame, and inadequacy. These experiences can be demoralizing and defeating but also provide an immense opportunity for change and growth.

Many of the clients that I have worked with during the past 18 years have faced stressful life events that have triggered anxiety, depression, and anger . Frequently, these feelings have begun to significantly interfere with relationships, work, and overall sense of self. In my practice, I provide a safe and respectful relationship that promotes courage and strength to confront and work through these difficult feelings and experiences. By talking with a caring and trained professional, my clients are able to develop new perspectives about themselves and their concerns and this allows them to approach life with increased hope and enjoyment.

If you identify as LGBTQIA+, femme, and/ or a person of color you may be facing obstacles or concerns in your life that are heavy on your mind. The weight of your worries may be leaving you feeling sad, frustrated, afraid or even angry. It may feel bigger than what you have time for right now, causing you to hold back when you want to say something. It may be more and more difficult to disclose any of these feelings to anyone without falling apart. It’s okay to feel sadness, frustration or anger and it is okay to take time to talk about it. You can learn to allow room for all of your feelings.

The decision to pursue therapy requires vulnerability and risk. Choosing a therapist who understands this reality is important. Like most adults, you may be seeking therapy to explore why your relationships are unsatisfying or why you feel unfulfilled. You may hope to understand how painful emotions like shame, sadness, and anger have affected you. Many adults seek solutions on their own, only to feel stuck in repetitive cycles of behavior that produce momentary relief.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
