I specialize in working with high-achieving Black women, neurodivergent adults, individuals navigating mood and personality disorders, and couples of color seeking greater connection, communication, and healing. Many of my clients are successful in their careers, education, or personal lives, yet struggle with anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, identity concerns, or the pressure of constantly having to "hold it all together."

I want therapy to feel like an hour that's truly yours. It's a space to slow down, get curious about what's been weighing on you, and untangle the thoughts that may be keeping you stuck. I am especially passionate about working with first- and second-generation individuals and immigrant population. I understand the complexities that can come with navigating cultural identity, family roles, intergenerational expectations, and the experience of living between cultures.

Life can be difficult to navigate—especially when we feel pressured to appear strong while struggling silently inside. Many men carry unspoken burdens of stress, anger, or disappointment, often feeling they must handle it alone. I offer a safe and supportive space for men to speak freely, reflect honestly, and reconnect with their faith as a source of strength and renewal. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, past wounds, or questions about purpose, we’ll work together to restore balance, clarity, and peace.

I weave together psychodynamic tenets, CBT techniques, some skill-building, mindfulness, and body-based regulation skills.
You want to seem dependable, but deep down you’re struggling to keep it together and show up the way you want to for those who need you. You’re someone who is usually great at taking care of those around you, but you find yourself drowning, fearing you’re disappointing everyone, and like a failure. To make it worse, you know you’ve been neglecting your own needs the most. You feel the effects of that. But you’re ready to make a change. You’re ready to make the time to sort out the overwhelm in your head. You’re ready to feel grounded and calm. Most of all, you’re ready to feel empowered and confident. I want to help you get there.

You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself or others. Perhaps you’re navigating grief, trauma, relational challenges, or questions of identity and meaning. You may long for a space to slow down, feel seen, and explore what’s beneath the surface. My clients often seek greater clarity, emotional freedom, and depth, not just symptom relief, but real understanding. I bring a culturally attuned and spiritually sensitive lens to therapy, honoring the complexity of each person’s story and background. If you're drawn to therapy as a space to grow, reflect, and reconnect, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

People often come to see me after realizing that something has shifted: life isn't as meaningful as it had once been, jobs or relationships aren't as fulfilling, or with a general sense that things could be better. Sometimes this can be tied back to a specific event, either in the recent past or long ago in childhood. Other times the cause of the suffering is inexplicable.

I enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds especially in terms of gender identity, familial origins, and diversity of lived experiences. My time living in Japan influenced my culturally inclusive approach, and taught me to value deeply the challenges that many may face acculturating in a new environment. Additionally, these experiences helped me understand and respect that life can be lived in many ways beyond those with which I have immediate experience. Finally, this experience has attuned me to the value of incorporating Eastern philosophies into my practice. My approach often utilizes reflective-oriented therapy

I work from a psychodynamic perspective, which emphasizes bringing unconscious material to the conscious.
I have previously worked as an RBT and paraprofessional. Through these roles, I developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. My experience has taught me the importance of patience, empathy, and tailored communication strategies to effectively support and empower those I work with.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
