I specialize in adult/teen depression, anxiety, ADHD and relationship/family issues. Response time 24 business hours to calls or emails. My first priority is to understand you as a person. If you are feeling hesitant about therapy, understand that this is normal: letting another person into your private space can be frightening. A good therapist, however, will accept you as you are, with all the good and the ugly. Courage!
Hello, I am currently working at a private practice. I specialize in addiction. I work mostly with adults, but will also see adolescents. I have been in the mental health field for about 8 years and substance use for about 6 now. Goals for a client would be for you to want to work on getting sober, or reduce use patterns. I also know many clients have a mental health issue along with substance use. If a client wants to work on both at the same time we can do that too.
To me, there is nothing more meaningful than walking alongside individuals on a therapeutic journey towards healing and fulfillment. At Therapeutic Life Counseling PC, I’m passionate about working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Also, I have a specialization in working with children who experience Selective Mutism.
Life can be overwhelming and stressful. Taking the first step to make changes in your life can be scary. Engaging in counseling is courageous. There is no need to have it together, or know where to begin. Your therapy is customized to you so it starts with learning your story and understanding your needs. We will then work together to create the life you want to start living.
Hello and welcome! I'm Sonya and I'm so glad you're here. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and I work with children, adolescents, and adults. Prior to launching Morgan Counseling Group PLLC in 2020, I had worked as a social worker in several Chicagoland schools. I have extensive experience with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Education Plans, special education services, and navigating the school environment. My treatment background includes anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, social skills, relationships, behavioral concerns, transitions, self-esteem, grief/loss, and identity awareness.
Our lives are made up of stories. Some chapters are beautiful, while some can be tragic. As we create our own narrative to the events of our lives, rushing to find some semblance of normalcy, we often become lost, challenged, overwhelmed. We forget there is beauty and resiliency in not only the events that bring us joy, but also the events that may not. As a licensed social worker, I work with you to identify meaning in each story that you share, finding a new and clearer perspective so you may live a happier life.
Accepting New Clients: You look in the mirror and the person looking back at you is unrecognizable. You have given up everything for everybody else. You keep saying yes to others, and you continuously say no to yourself and your own needs. You feel you can’t do it anymore. You scream for help, but nobody bothers to listen. You feel like even those you used to be closest to do not understand what you are going through. You fell down into a dark hole, and no matter what you do, you can’t seem to climb out of it. You are not exactly sure when it happened or how it happened, but you somehow lost yourself.
You are unique, special, distinctive and I respect each client with their purpose and presence in this world. I take my 22 years of experience to connect and help create a safe and welcoming environment for you to tell your story. My goal is to collaborate with you and to allow you to feel empowered to overcome struggles and challenges you are facing in your self discovery and learn positive coping strategies.
Everyone's therapy needs are different! I take a collaborative, non-judgmental approach to honor those unique needs. I believe I have a responsibility as a therapist to create a safe, supportive, open environment where clients feel empowered to take an active role in their therapy process. When working with clients on concerns including anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, trauma, parenting, and work/school concerns I focus on patterns within and across generations of families, balance between connectedness and individuality, and increasing your ability to cope with and tolerate stress.
I am dedicated to helping women, teen girls, and children build self-worth, motivation, self-confidence, and a healthy body image. I also focus on guiding people through stressful life transitions, career discernment, academic/work pressures, cultural assimilation challenges, as well as chronic physical pain. I assist premarital and married couples with improving and enriching communication. I often work with adult women seeking to heal trauma wounds caused by past childhood/ex-partner abuse, neglect, divorce, peer bullying, racial injustice, loss, accidents, and natural hazards.
Everyone feels overwhelmed and stuck sometimes, particularly during life transitions. I provide a warm, empowering, supportive space to help clients of all ages, from recent graduates, to people seeking to change career paths, to empty-nesters, to those seeking fulfillment in their retirement, find a way to move forward with hope and optimism. I strive to bring humor and laughter into our sessions, and my goal is for our time together to feel like a conversation that recognizes your strengths and your voice. If you are struggling to find your power or purpose in life, I would love to partner with you to find your path forward.

Talking with a professional counselor can provide hope, solutions and emotional support so that you are able to make needed changes in your life. There are strategies that you can learn to decrease stress, anxiety, depression, anger, grief, guilt and loss; improve communication in your marriage or relationship, turnaround difficult relationships at work; address alcohol or other addictions; and gain strength and motivation to take action on making positive life-changing decisions.
I am a clinical psychologist focused on helping kids, teens, and families navigate challenges related to ADHD, social relationships, difficult emotions, and stress. I believe that with the right supportive environment of empathy, patience, and guidance, we can all grow through these challenges and emerge stronger than before. I offer therapy and testing services to facilitate this process of growth. I am currently providing these services remotely through telehealth, and I am able to offer remote testing for some presenting concerns, such as ADHD, emotional functioning, and disruptive behaviors.
TEENS + MILLENNIALS: I get it....what's supposed to be the best years of your life are actually filled with overwhelming stress, anxiety and self-doubt. The pressure to excel in high school or college, create a social media perfect life, land an amazing job, make the "right" decisions for your future plus meet everyone's expectations is too much to deal with. You've spent countless hours searching Google for self-help tips but you're left feeling hopeless and defeated. You're starting to wonder, "Will things ever get better or will I feel this way forever?" I want you to know that I see you, I hear you and I have your back.
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, MSCP, MBA, LCPC
In my practice I specialize in providing therapy to couples, families, men and adolescent males. My work with couples helps with conflict due to recurrent communication problems, infidelity, financial stresses, intimacy, etc. With families, we address lack of closeness, external pressures, trauma, and changes from maturity of children. My style is interactive and direct. As an older male, I am readily able to help with relational, parenting and career challenges. Men require a therapist who has journeyed through the vagaries of life understanding the attendant joys and failures.
The late-great David Bowie captured one of life’s most enduring challenges when he dared us to “turn and face the straaange ch-ch-changes.” If only it were that easy, right? I am a change expert with over 15 years of experience helping people contend with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, “I feel stuck”-ness, low self-esteem, and underachievement. My approach is interactive, down-to-earth, and peppered with humor and creativity. Feel free to contact me for a brief, no-charge phone consultation. If I’m not the ideal fit for you or your loved one, I’ll be happy to assist you in finding someone who is.
