Life is never straightforward, and we are often left facing changes that are both surprising and difficult to navigate. Our routines are thrown off and we find ourselves living life in ways that we never imagined. Yet, as uncertain as it all may feel, we try to manage these struggles as best we can. It is through the turmoil we encounter and the perseverance that follows that we truly learn the essence of our souls. Whether you're at crossroads, distressed over troubled relationships, facing difficult challenges, or looking for meaning in life, I can work with you as you explore through your journey of self-discovery.

We're all on a journey to find meaning in life and ease our suffering. We seek change, yet sometimes don’t know how to make it happen. Unknowingly, we may have developed a critical inner voice and habits that keep us stuck. Therapy offers a chance to grow, heal, and create lasting change. Through a mindful, cognitive-behavioral approach, we can tune into our inner world to better understand ourselves and how we interact in relationships. When we deepen our self-awareness, we can truly heal and show up authentically. My hope for you is to feel empowered to live boldly, equipped with fresh insights and effective tools.

If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, loss, relationship or family conflict and have been hesitant to try therapy or return to therapy, please feel free to reach out for help navigating these difficulties. We all have times in life when it would be beneficial to talk through and process challenging life events with a trained professional who is non-judgmental, empathic and firmly believes in an individual's internal wisdom towards healing when provided the right resources. Often life has a way of throwing us curveballs. It helps to have another person participate alongside us as we figure out how best to cope.

Therapy is a space to explore who you are, were & want to be. Change and growth can be scary & difficult but also beautiful & freeing. My hope is to help you move through that process in the way that works best for you. Working toward a greater insight and awareness of our experiences can help us to embrace and enhance connection to ourselves and others. I provide culturally & racially conscious therapy services using the social work adage of beginning where my client is. I see my role as being present with my clients as they face and navigate the grey areas of life, while increasing agency, sense of self & healthy coping skills.

Is your child or teen struggling with anxiety, depression, parental divorce, making friends, or challenges that come with an Autism Spectrum Disorder? Are you a young adult experiencing a life transition, relationship difficulties or grief and loss? If so, psychotherapy can help. My goal is not to provide strategies that simply lead to short term relief, but to work with you or your child to reduce symptoms quickly, while creating long-lasting change- a process that I believe only occurs in the context of a safe and trusting relationship.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
