I mostly draw from approaches such as ERP, CBT, and ACT.
Hi, I'm Kimberly! I specialize in providing therapy to teens and adults struggling with symptoms of OCD and other anxiety related issues such as social fears, perfectionism, and panic. I love taking behavioral approaches to challenge fears and step outside of their comfort zone. Outside of anxiety treatment, I also enjoy working with people to manage symptoms of depression, trauma, and ADHD. Many people I see may identify with more than one mental health diagnosis and/or have a significant history of symptoms. We will collaborate to identify what you want to work on and what you want to get out of therapy.

In sessions, I primarily use ACT, CBT, DBT, ERP and evidence-based art therapy for both processing and clinical assessment.
Any one client that walks in the door is vastly different but I do believe every person in therapy has the capacity to find healing and closure from life's difficulties. It is my personal belief that I am here to guide clients through that process and help them develop healthy coping skills to keep in their tool box moving forward as new conflict or stressors arise. I have an extensive background in community mental health and working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. I firmly believe clients are the experts on their own life, and as a clinician, it is my job to act as a partner in that process.

I help individuals manage OCD and anxiety disorders using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP).
I utilize evidence-based approaches that help clients break free from the behaviors that exacerbate their anxiety and hold them back in life. I also support individuals who are trying to coparent with a high-conflict co-parent by providing practical tools for emotional regulation, in an attempt to empower them to be a pillar of strength and resilience.

As someone who grew up on the North Shore, I understand firsthand the intensity of academic, social, and extracurricular pressures that can shape a young person’s sense of self and increase anxiety, I work with children, teens, young adults, and college-aged individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, overthinking, relationship challenges, emotional dysregulation, or feeling stuck in negative thought patterns. Many feel overwhelmed by academic pressure, social dynamics, perfectionism, family conflict, identity struggles, or major life transitions and are looking for support, clarity, and confidence.

Therapy isn't just a place to heal. It is a space to get curious about who you are becoming, where every part of your identity is not just welcomed, but understood. I'm committed to creating a therapy space that feels liberating, empowering, and affirming. I’m a queer and neurodivergent therapist who works relationally and collaboratively. We build tools not to fix you, but to support you in aligning with the life you actually want.

Using evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT-informed therapy, ACT, ERP, CPT, and mindfulness, I tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs.
If anxiety feels like an over-caffeinated creative director running your life, or if trauma feels like quicksand pulling you down, therapy can be the space where you find balance and a way forward. Many of my clients come to their first session feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and weighed down by the pressure of holding it all together. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD symptoms, or going through a life transition such as pregnancy and postpartum, relationship changes, career shifts, and family adjustments, this can be the safe space for you.

If you or your child tend(s) to be sensitive, rigid, and an unclear communicator, you may have wondered about autism. Or maybe you have had several therapies and diagnoses, and are wanting clarity and guidance on what actually works. I believe quality treatment starts with a thorough assessment. It is more than just a path to diagnosis, it is an opportunity to learn, reflect on what is and isn't working, and develop a plan for the supports you may need or changes you want to make. Further, if you feel controlled by your habits and are seeking a data-driven approach to therapy, we may be a good match!

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
