I believe each individual has a unique story that is waiting to be told. One of the blessings I experience, as a counselor and therapist, is the privilege of being brought into the stories of my clients and helping them move forward in life when they feel "stuck". Whether the obstacles include abuse, anger, anxiety , career issues, fear, depression, relationships or family problems, spiritual difficulties, or something else, there is hope!

I see clients 10+ years old, and I am skilled in treating anxiety , stress, trauma, eating disorders, grief, relationship problems, anger management, and a variety of other issues.
Accepting new clients Feb 2023! I believe one role of a therapist is to help clients find ways to become the version of themselves they truly desire to be. Every person already possesses a unique set of skills and base of knowledge stemming from their life experiences and personality. People are often more resilient and capable of change than they realize, and it is my goal to help clients identify personal strengths, learn new skills, and create meaning, peace, healing, and change. We all need help sometimes, and there is no shame in asking for guidance or seeking a safe space to process the many unexpected things life can bring.

Life can be tough and you may find yourself feeling stuck at times. Sometimes we struggle with overthinking, low self esteem, and/or feeling alone. There are a lot of different reasons why an individual may seek therapy. Maybe you are struggling with addiction, grief, or simply need to vent. I utilize a person centered approach to therapy. I value the importance of allowing my clients the time to speak and be heard. I also value Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques, it is very important to understand your values so that you can get your life back on track. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Techniques as well.

My love-based, spiritual, mindset approach helps clients alleviate the bases of theirs fears in their belief system.
I'm here to support, encourage, walk with, and extend love to all my beautiful souls who have battled with indecisiveness about making decisions, co-dependency in relationships (Where we depend on others to meet our emotional needs, feel secure, and worthy), negative self-talk, lack boundaries, get stuck in cycles of over-thinking, commit to being loyal at the cost to self, and have a constant relationship with insecurity and low self-esteem. I want to help you learn to trust yourself, love yourself/accept yourself, honor your inner voice, respect and exert your voice, value your time, commit to the importance of meeting your needs.

"Think about what you can do right now, not what you had wish you would have done before." I am passionate about helping people overcome whatever obstacle that keeps them from living their life to the fullest. Throughout life we all experience difficulties that lead to us feeling alone, overwhelmed, and defeated. Despite our best efforts sometimes overcoming those life circumstances by ourselves can be unsuccessful. My desire is to come alongside you and help you overcome those difficult life circumstances in a safe and supporting environment to get you back to living your best life.

I treat depression, anxiety disorders, trauma/PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship problems, and grief-related issues.
Life is difficult. This is the first line from the book, The Road Less Travelled, by M. Scott Peck. Each of us is all too aware of this basic truth. Sometimes we need help navigating our journey, and therapy is great place to start! I believe building strong relationships with my clients provides a safe space to explore their life experiences, thoughts, and feelings. It is my goal to create an understanding and respectful environment where together we can discover the most effective means for positive change.

My personal belief is that when situations in life are thrown at us we can ignore them or try to accept and work through them. Each thing we go through in life impacts who we are as a person. We can either let them make us bitter or make us better. My goal for clients is to help you on your journey by providing tools, education, and support so you can find positive solutions to your problems by creating a comfortable, non-judgmental environment by demonstrating unconditional positive regard.

You want a solution that will relieve anxiety and fear for the long term, not just temporarily.
Your anxiety is relentless and has taken over every aspect of your life. You’ve struggled with it for so long but nothing seems to be able to get it to go away. You try, oh, believe me, you try. Regardless of what you do, how many times you do it, or how long you do it, the anxiety persists. Your mind is a playground for anxiety provoking, distressing and sometimes obsessive thoughts that are uncomfortable and sometimes even makes you question you as a person. Who would have thoughts like this? Why can't I let this go? What makes me so afraid of this? One thing is for certain, it doesn't seem like ANYTHING really works.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
