I specialize in helping adults and older adults navigate anxiety, ADHD, people-pleasing, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed by overthinking, stuck in self-doubt, or drained from constantly putting others first—and they’re ready for real, lasting change. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and strength-based strategies, I help clients shift unhelpful thought loops, strengthen emotional awareness, and reconnect with their values. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in practical tools that support meaningful growth—in and outside of sessions.

Choosing to pursue counseling is a brave and oftentimes nerve wracking experience. I make it my goal to put my clients at ease and work with them to create a comfortable and safe place where they can feel free to be their most authentic selves. I have worked with adolescents, children, and adults in mental health and social work for over 20 years. I have extensive experience helping those who struggle with anxiety, depression, identity development, non-heterosexuality or non-cis gender (LGBTQI+), and ethically non-monogamous (polyamorous) relationships. I also have a history working with people with substance abuse problems and women in transition, as well as those coping with grief and loss. I have supported individuals who happen to be neurodivergent in terms of their unique needs. I believe everyone is deserving of respect, care and support.

I aim to welcome clients to therapy in a supportive, understanding and enriching way. I work to provide a space that helps clients feel understood and encouraged to reach their goals for counseling and therapy. The adults and teens I meet with are facing a variety of challenges related to anxiety, depression, difficulties at school or work, divorce, grief and loss, family stress, and other life events. It has been truly rewarding for me to support people and their growth over the past 20 years that I have been in the counseling field, and I look forward to continuing to offer that support.

I help individuals who feel anxious and depressed, confused and stuck, or easily overwhelmed by "life's" demands. I help people in the midst of emotional crises find ways to cope with difficult emotions, life changes, relationships, work, and personal problems. I work with couples to help restore and build stronger bonds with each other. If you are feeling overwhelmed by emotions that get in the way of living the life you want to live, I will help identify obstacles in your way. I use an experiential approach that helps you achieve balance, reconnects you to yourself and others, and empowers you to live the life you want to live.

My counseling style is to meet my clients where they are at. This means that we will take a look at your life currently and where you would like to be. Then we'll work together to make short term and long term goals. During our sessions we will be exploring some of the roots of your challenges and how to make changes so that you can achieve your goals. I come from a very holistic standpoint, and I believe that working on your mind, body and spirit is very important, as they are all interconnected. As a Christian counselor, I offer my clients the opportunity to pursue long lasting change through the power of Christ.

You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or navigating stress, depression, identity shifts, or relationship challenges. Maybe you’re longing for clarity, emotional balance, or a space where you can slow down and be fully yourself. You want support that feels warm, authentic, and grounding—someone who will listen deeply, walk alongside you, and help you build a life that reflects your values and who you’re becoming.

Showing up to therapy is a concrete way to quiet the commotion around you so you can reflect, process, and then take action to pursue the life you want with intentionality. It is my goal to establish an environment that is a safe place to let your guard down. Setting time aside to pause can feel like taking a healing breath. With your lungs full, and your resolve strengthened, you can discover ways to navigate your life with intentionality and purpose. There is power in processing your story- in unpacking what you have been through and naming how it has played a role in shaping your life.

No one had a perfect childhood, including you! Maybe your anxiety, depression, unhealthy coping, relationship struggles, and inner chaos aren't a character flaw, but a sign of untreated emotional wounds. Unless we actively attempt to make sense of our reactions and behaviors, they will continue to control us. Our bodies and minds remember the pain from the past and react to that pain whenever something reminds us of it. Increasing our awareness of these connections can be eye-opening and can allow us to shift how we perceive ourselves and our relationships. You are not to blame for the ways in which you learned to protect yourself.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
