Being a BIPOC woman or girl often means carrying multiple layers of responsibility, expectation and resilience—while also navigating stress, emotional pain and cultural pressures that are not always understood in traditional spaces. If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or unheard, you deserve support that truly sees you.

My focus is primarily with adolescents and adults, inclusive of individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community, who are experiencing depression, anxiety, and/or stress from daily life challenges and changes.
I offer an eclectic approach that is tailored to the individual client because your last concern with therapy should be to attempt to fit into a prewritten mold. I do, however draw a lot of my approach from cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and mindfulness based approaches.

I also provide support for individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, including gender and sexuality exploration.
As a relational and trauma-informed therapist, cultivating trust, safety and comfort is a top priority. My communication style is compassionate and candid, with a bit of humor. I best work with folks who are curious and open-minded about exploring themselves.

Everyone deserves rest, healing, + joy. However, it can be difficult for us to sustain these things amidst oppressive systems that often leave marginalized folks in the dust. I want to foster an identity-affirming space built on patience, conflict resolution, + human connection. As a trans, disabled, neurodivergent, + BIPOC therapist, I strive towards a collaborative space where folks can show up as their most authentic selves. I am excited to work with people from all walks of life, particularly those who identify as trans/gender nonconforming, disabled, BIPOC, autistic adults, and survivors of relational trauma.

Living with a chronic GI condition means managing more than symptoms — it's anxiety, food fear, medical fatigue, and a nervous system on high alert. As a clinical health psychologist/gastropsychologist with fellowship training in GI health psychology, I understand the gut-brain axis and the anxiety that builds when your body feels like it's working against you. I treat the overlap of chronic illness, medical trauma, health anxiety, and body disconnection — including IBS, IBD, gastroparesis, esophageal disorders, nausea, and pelvic floor dysfunction. We'll reduce symptoms while building a compassionate relationship with your body.

As someone that is latinx, queer, and GNC; I understand there are various intersectionalities that can lead to feeling unheard and stigmatized by those around you.
Whether you are beginning, re-starting or continuing therapy, I recognize that this process requires both vulnerability and willingness to dig deep into concerns that can sometimes feel debilitating. Everyone deserves to work with a therapist who will meet you exactly where you are at; that will normalize your concerns and worries rather than meet them with judgment and an “alarmist” perspective. I will remind you that you, and only you, are the expert of your experiences. My role is that of a catalyst; for you to learn how to advocate for your own autonomy with independence and connect to your personal truth with authenticity.

I work with queer couples and committed partners navigating high-conflict dynamics, emotional disconnection, attachment wounds, betrayal, and intimacy challenges.
Are you and your partner feeling stuck in conflict, struggling with communication issues, or trying to rebuild trust after a rupture? Couples therapy and marriage counseling can offer a path forward when disconnection, resentment, or emotional distance take over. You may find yourselves having the same argument on repeat, walking on eggshells, or feeling more like roommates than partners. I specialize exclusively in couples therapy, helping committed partners and married couples move from reactive cycles and painful misunderstandings toward clarity, renewed intimacy, emotional safety, and lasting reconnection.

I believe psychotherapy can help with almost anything. Sometimes clients come in needing assistance with making a tough decision, while other times they’re needing tools to help better cope with anxiety or depression. I feel called to work with younger folks - children and adolescents specifically. I typically see children who are experiencing familial issues, ADHD, learning difficulties, and behavioral issues. Adolescence can be uncomfortable and confusing. It is a painful time for teenagers. I am deeply passionate about providing them with unconditional support, empathy, and a safe space to share their emotions.

Liberation Psychotherapy is a psychotherapy practice that provides both in-person (at Rockefeller Center/Midtown Manhattan) and virtual outpatient mental health services. Liberation Psychotherapy is rooted in the belief that mental health is shaped not only by the inner life of the self, but by the social, cultural, political, and economic realities in which people live. Identity profoundly influences how individuals move through the world, and experiences of othering, marginalization, and oppression can create enduring psychological distress and trauma.

I’m a queer art therapist & counselor who provides therapy that is down-to-earth, collaborative, anti-oppressive, and affirming.
I know this world is a hard place to be. We're all trying to navigate the uncertainty of life while big things keep happening within and around us. Maybe you are yearning for a supportive space where you can make meaning out of your experiences. Maybe you want to move beyond words and explore healing through art and creativity. Maybe you want to reconnect with yourself and discover what else you desire. Therapy does not hold the answers–it holds a space for all of your complexity to exist. I aim to walk alongside you as we explore where to go together.

You might appear “put together” on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck internally. You may be navigating burnout, relationship stress, major life transitions, or concerns about focus, mood, or emotional regulation, for yourself or your child. You’re not looking for quick fixes or vague advice. You want clarity, insight, and real tools that help you move forward. Most of all, you want care that is thoughtful and built around your mental wellness needs so life can feel manageable, balanced, and meaningful again.

As someone who has faced many adversities, life challenges, has had their own struggles with physical health and mental health – I completely get how hard it is to not only ask for help but the challenges and the courage it takes to be vulnerable enough to ask for help from others – even, from yourself. I acknowledge that one’s healing journey is not linear because it takes time, work, having plan B when plan A doesn’t work out, having plan C for plan B, etc. Most importantly, the need to develop some kindness and compassion with yourself to work through feelings or experiences that feel complicated, messy, or misunderstood.

LGBTQ+/ND competent.
Maybe you have been to a therapist or two and haven't been able to dig as deep as you would like to go in order to move into your most authentic sense of being. Perhaps you struggle with self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, or are confused about next steps. You will likely find me to be a good fit if you are looking to do much deeper work to finally resolve pain from the past as opposed to merely coping with it. Our work will be guided by a vision of long-term mental health, growing into authenticity, and creating a sense of emotional regulation and safety that you may not have experienced yet.

LGBTQ+ Therapists
Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?
Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?
Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?
While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
