As a dedicated forensic psychotherapist, I am committed to providing compassionate and evidence-based therapy to individuals navigating the complexities of the legal system. My mission is to support clients in understanding the intersection of mental health and forensic issues, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives beyond their legal challenges. I hold a Masters in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, Post-Masters Certificate in Addictions Counseling and undergraduate degrees in Legal Studies and Psychology. I am also a trained Mediator and SUPR licensed DUI Evaluator with approval from McHenry County Circuit Court.

Julie Konrath is a pre-licensed professional with a master's degree in Counseling from Northwestern University. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from North Central University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from American InterContinental University. Her background includes work as a Behavioral Tech at a substance abuse treatment center as well as a behavioral health hospital. She has been trained in pre surgical bariatric psychological evaluations, spinal cord stimulator evaluations, and ADHD evaluations.

My clinical focus includes working with adolescent and adult clients to develop and support treatment goals. I also administer diagnostic assessments to clients to aid in their therapy progress. My experience includes working with adolescent and adult individuals with a variety of mental health issues, from mild to severe, while including their spouses or family in sessions to advance the process of therapy. I work with adult individuals whom are struggling in various phases of their life and help them manage the effects of mental health issues.

I work collaboratively with my clients to expand their insight into all the relevant factors and/or influences that are keeping them from reaching their full potential. These factors often include, but are not limited to; the identified stressor(s) that brought them into therapy; the effectiveness (or lack of effectiveness) of their current coping strategies; the influence past experiences and physical discomfort can have on their decision making and behavior; and increasing his or her awareness of their individual strengths and weakness. Simply put, I systematically help my clients make appropriate changes needed to meet their identified treatment goals.

After spending 14 years learning about the human brain and mind, was trained extensively in various treatments, and working since 2009 at almost all settings, I learned to focus on what you personally struggle with. There are much more to us than having a disorder. Therefore, I listen to you and know you well in order to tailor the treatment plan that fits you the most. My end goal, besides eliminating the undesirable symptoms, is helping you finding your own path and having a better quality of life. Cesar is trained in numerous therapeutic orientations that are grounded in the latest research in the field of mental health which enables him to personalize his treatment approach to the specific needs and goals of the individual. His training is focused on trauma and he specializes in treating clients with combat and non-combat-related issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, complex grief, attachment and reactive disorders, among others. He served as a Clinical Combat Chaplain in the US Army and as a forensic mental health clinician at a county jail for several years prior to private practice.
