Therapy should be something we grow to look forward to- the connection, the insight, the growth, and the support. It inspires me that growth and change continue through the entire life cycle, to our final days. I enjoy walking alongside clients struggling with the aging process, their relationships, their boundaries and self worth, and tender childhood wounds. I operate from an attachment oriented and interpersonal neurobiological approach.

When daily life stressors occur it is common to feel overwhelmed. My greatest passion in life is to assist in the healing needed for those that have been through any form of hardship, reuniting that person with their thriving selves. I help my clients to find those healthy perceptions of who they are and resolve relationship conflicts within marriages, couples, and friends. I was originally trained as a generalist therapist. This means I am able to work efficiently with a wide range of clients. My specialty is with those who have faced identity based trauma. Identity based trauma includes experiencing trauma on the basis of being in a marginalized community such as race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.. I also specialize in workplace fatigue/stress. I acknowledge our society encourages a growing list of demands with little compensation or value to care/rest. I help these individuals find a balance in their routine.

Frustrated at not knowing what is going on, feeling like you are going crazy, and having those around you not understand your struggles. There are always those who say, "Put the past behind you and move on; smile and think positive thoughts and you will feel better." Unfortunately, these people only add to the frustration of an already hard situation. At times you may wonder if things will ever get better and if you will ever gain any control over your life. You also need a therapist who understands that your time is precious and you need practical ways of dealing with the day to day problems mental health issues create.

I’ll be honest: I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you, and I don’t think individual therapy is the answer. I imagine you are doing your best to be okay in a very unwell culture – a culture of toxic individualism, a system designed to make us forget who we are, and what's important. II believe in a future where we will remember our connections to each other, ourselves, our planet, and heal in community. Til then, though, I’m here with you. I work from the basic belief that I don’t know what you need, but together we will find it. What if healing isn't about doing more, but about un-becoming everything that is not you?
