As a Marriage and Family Therapist I have specific training in the systemic challenges that can occur during the developmental years, as a result I incorporate attachment issues that may be present for the client. I am trained in EMDR and enjoy helping individuals struggling with past traumas or distressing events. I am licensed in California, Idaho and Oregon.

As a compassionate counselor I bring a warm and genuine approach to my practice. I focus on understanding and supporting my clients and I strive to empower them to achieve their goals and overcome challenges. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, valuing their experiences and perspectives. I provide a nurturing presence, unconditional positive regard, and non-judgmental support to help clients reframe negative stories and discover positive pathways. Together we will embark on a journey of growth, fostering life-changing habits and beliefs. I wholeheartedly believe in each person and enjoy guiding them to their dreams.

I am currently taking new Clients. I believe that we are far more than what we present to others. Along the journey, we sometimes lose touch with our authentic self. This loss reveals itself in many ways: Dissatisfaction in relationships, Questions about career/vocation, Feelings of depression/anxiety, eating too much or too little, Lack of confidence, Uncertainty about life choices, Physical/emotional weariness, Spiritual confusion and Disillusionment. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University and additional intensive Masters Study in Human Relationships. My undergrad degree is in Education with emphasis in health: body, mind and spirit.

My experience studying, researching, and teaching Philosophy has given me a broad lens from which to view each individual, couple, and family, and tailor my approach to their unique needs.

Many have been helped who suffer from anxiety, panic, post-traumatic stress, phobias, and depression. Medical problems are treated including tension headache, migraine, chronic pain,irritable bowel syndrome, chrones disease, MS, Lupus, arthritis, fibromyalgia, stress and immune system insufficiency. Addictions are treated including including sex addiction, addiction to pornography, cyber-gaming, food and nicotine addiction. Also treated are adult children of addicts, and personality disorders. Treatment methods include a solution focused, brief therapy that include cognitive behavior therapy, rational hypnotherapy, bio-feedback and brief, gestalt therapy.

I am passionate about helping individuals and couples achieve healing and change in the warmth and safety of a therapeutic relationship. I approach each client with honor and respect as I acknowledge the courage it takes to be vulnerable and willing to change. I specialize in treating eating disorders as well as mental health issues during infertility, pregnancy, and postpartum. I enjoy working with a wide range of client issues and find the process most rewarding when the client is motivated and committed to the beautiful journey of self-discovery and healing.

Initially, much of our work together focuses on sitting in that pain, validating the hurts and learning about your unique resilience. Pain and suffering can be great portals to self-awareness. Then from a position of greater self-confidence and self-worth, you can not only ease your suffering but start creating a life that feels full and valid to you.

It is common for people to say therapy hasn’t helped much and in many cases has even made things worse. Understandably, this increases people’s fear and doubt about therapy being able to help them. I find that most therapy is ineffective and most therapist are poorly trained. Because of this, I have been deeply committed to becoming a much better therapist providing the most modern and effective therapeutic approaches. Being human is hard. Not only can it be hard but for many individuals being seen, heard and understood are missing from their life experience. I know what it is like to feel overwhelmed, stuck, frustrated, confused, to live in unresolved trauma and how this existence can impact mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. I choose counseling as a way to serve others because I have experienced my own chronic and complex trauma.
