I've found people do the best they can with what they've got. Coming to therapy takes courage to find a new way of being. While figuring out what is working well, and where adjustments are needed, we will have fun, too. Rather than simply listening to you, or asking about your feelings, I tend toward questions about thoughts and actions. It's okay if you don't know yet what needs to change. We will make plans together to meet goals we set in the first few sessions. These will focus on changing thoughts and behaviors that aren't helpful or effective. In that process, you will feel better about who you are and the choices you make.

Sometimes we feel overwhelmed by our pain or by the obstacles in our lives and we realize that something must change. Fear, sorrow, anxiety and other painful emotions can cause us to be stuck, unable to develop, grow and realize our full potential. However, these difficult emotions and experiences can also be our most valuable teachers. I believe in the innate and endless capacity of human beings to grow and change if given the right tools and guidance. I would love to walk beside you as you navigate the path back toward balance, healing and health.

While everyone's life and experiences are unique, we often confront similar stressors throughout life: relationship difficulties, grief/loss, life transitions, anxiety, depression, isolation, sadness, and more. While we try our best to adapt to changes & experiences, sometimes we need additional help. Part of my work as a counselor is to help you identify and navigate concerns that come up as a natural part of life.

We all want to tell our story and be heard. It feels comforting to have a listening ear that will help you find clarity and freedom from overwhelming thoughts and feelings. Counseling is the chance to be vulnerable in a safe place. It is a place to be listened to and heard. It is a place where you can formulate understanding through deep reflection and insight as you share.

If you are not where you want to be, or who you want to be, there is a path towards a future. And looking for change is a great start! Depression, anxiety, obstructive/destructive habits; these can be telling you that it’s time to look at your life, understand what creates discomfort and what works, and find the momentum to take action. Your past may have shaped you but you can shape your future. If it’s time for change then come and talk. Life is full of transitions. In fact, all of life is a transition. When change comes along it can be stressful.

Symptoms of depression, anxiety or pain can feel like they define you. Maybe you've tried therapy in the past without making much progress. Or maybe you are a new mom who feels like you are "going crazy" and are worried you will never feel like yourself again. I know what it's like to feel stuck and unsure that you can get better. Whatever has brought you here, know that you will be welcomed and seen. And...that you hold within the power of choice to try something different- to move out of what is no longer serving you.

As each person is unique, the best therapy is individualized. I am very flexible in meeting your needs through a variety of different approaches. I believe that people can change and that emotional suffering can be transformed. We will focus on gaining insights about the cause of your suffering, while also building new skills for managing the storms of life. Even though many problems seem overwhelming or impossible to change, by working together on seemingly small pieces we can bring about lasting changes that help you to have more of the life you want.

What stands in the way of you feeling whole, supported, connected, and in charge of your life? Sometimes we see ourselves in outdated or inaccurate ways, feel stuck in habits and routines that are burdensome or unfulfilling, struggle in relationships, work too hard to keep pain at bay, suffer terrible losses, and find ordinary life challenges overwhelming and impossible. Whether your struggle involves past trauma, difficult relationships, challenging life transitions, or just navigating through a demanding and ever changing world, you deserve compassionate understanding, support, and relief.

Hello! My name is Patrick and I provide Telehealth/Online Therapy to anyone residing in the state of Idaho. While I do many kinds of therapy, I specialize in providing Meaning Centered Therapy, Christian Counseling, and Marital/Pre-Marital therapy. Why is my approach different from a more general counselor? When your beliefs and values are allowed to be a part of therapy, you can work beyond simple behavioral modification into a deeper understanding and healing of your whole being. Haven't made up your mind about religion? No problem. We will work together to discover your sources of meaning to empower the therapeutic process.

Life is hard. None of us get it right all the time. My goal for the therapeutic relationship is to provide you with the awareness and skills you will need to achieve the level of functioning you desire. I believe my job as your therapist is to work myself out of a job - by teaching you what I know, helping you apply it, assessing the results and adjusting where necessary.

I use Art & Photo Therapy techniques, play therapy and sand tray. Words alone are not enough to express what you feel. All humans remember in the form of images and attach those images to emotional responses. This is especially true when people are faced with the complex issues of grief, violence, abuse, neglect or coping with a disability. That is why Art therapy needs to become an integral part of the treatment. Art therapy gives you a voice to express a wide range of emotions and helps you work through conflicts & traumas. (Any age or issues and NO ART SKILLS NEEDED. )

I have been working in the mental health field for 16 years. People who want to focus on discovering their inner strengths and understanding how those attributes can help them overcome their current challenges will benefit greatly from my techniques. I use a strength- based team approach which simply means I see counseling as a partnership between the people I work with and myself. I believe life is a journey and together we can make the most out of yours.

I am a licensed psychologist with years of experience offering counseling, psychotherapy and psychological evaluations. I have helped many, many people who were struggling with the stresses and overwhelming problems life can often present, who needed hope and support, as well as those seeking therapy on a journey of deeper self-understanding. Intimacy in relationships is one of life's most significant challenges. I have worked to help people overcome their defensiveness, to find the closeness they want with the ones they love.
