I worked as a social worker in Child Welfare for 21 years helping families and children work through issues of abuse and neglect to improve their relationships. Prior to that I worked doing couples and individual counseling. Earlier in my career, I also taught elementary school and worked in a group home. I believe in using therapy to empower individuals to find mental and emotional well-being and increased quality of life. I am a lifelong learned who loves to research the newest trends in mental and emotional well-being and utilize techniques to help strengthen families, couples, and individuals.

We all want to tell our story and be heard. It feels comforting to have a listening ear that will help you find clarity and freedom from overwhelming thoughts and feelings. Counseling is the chance to be vulnerable in a safe place. It is a place to be listened to and heard. It is a place where you can formulate understanding through deep reflection and insight as you share.

Accepting New Clients starting…Making the decision and moving forward with seeking therapy is a huge step and usually, it’s the biggest challenge in therapy. From the moment you step through my door, you’ve already got someone in your corner. I take pride in offering a supportive, calm, accepting, and safe environment for my clients. Today’s environment makes it more difficult for us to find ways to create healthy coping skills. We will work together to identify thought patterns and behaviors, process your emotions, and explore your values and beliefs.

Sometimes you may feel all alone and that no one understands. Or you may even be unsure as to what is happening inside of yourself, or how to handle what you are experiencing in life.

Not accepting clients. Populations I really enjoy working with are youth (ages 13+) and young adults. I feel this has definitely become my niche as this tends to be a transition period for youth with learning who they are as an individual, finding their voice, peer/school pressure, and social media. As well young adults (18-30) what I notice is this age group really struggles with boundary setting as they are transitioning from being under their parents to being an adult. I also enjoy helping them with identification of values and beliefs what are important to them, follow through and helping them learn to have healthy habits.

Currently have waitlist for new clients...Take what the game gives you, my dad always said… that is the number one mantra and peace of advice that has resonated with me during the swells and swallows this ocean of life has to offer. And like all humble humans, I believe growth, learning, and love are the foundations for change. I believe if we take what the game of life gives us, and can cope and adapt at whatever is thrown our way, we will have made it to our highest and truest potential.

As a therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While I can't change difficult situations of the past, We can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. Using therapeutic approaches and techniques, we will uncover behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be keeping you from experiencing a fulfilling and meaningful life. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

At times we become trapped in repeating negative patterns, unable to achieve our goals. Life feels meaningless, lonely and cold. Clarity and direction needed for the pursuit of happiness is lost in the weight of the day blocking the energy needed for change and growth. Lost in this mindset we fill every space with condemning thoughts and fruitless behaviors. These thought patterns result in no room for healthy, life affirming emotion. Whatever we use to numb from the dark, also numbs out the light.

My approach to counseling is driven by respect, openness, and collaboration. I believe that we are neither all good nor all bad but rather a mixture of both. I work to build a relationship that cultivates insight and growth, together finding the parts of you that challenge, confuse, or frustrate you. I enjoy counseling adolescents (16+) and adults. I am only doing sessions via a secure 2 way HIPAA compliant video connection. For the fastest response please send me an email with your inquiry.

(Wait-list for new clients as of 11/1/2023) People seek therapy for many reasons, but most people have one common goal: change. They want a change in how they feel, think, behave or in how they are treated. They want to be truly heard, understood and validated by someone who won't judge or criticize them.
