I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Supervisor, mentoring new clinicians and managing other supervisors, at Aloha Psych Associates. I am inspired by the “aloha spirit,” drawing on Hawaiian concepts like ‘alo’ (presence), ‘ha’ (breath of life), ‘mana’ (healing energy), and ‘ohana’ (family and connectedness). For the last ten years, I have worked with children ages 4-18, and now I currently work with adults 18+, couples, and families. I have experience working in higher level care, crisis, school, nonprofit, and private practice settings treating children, adolescents, and adults.
Throughout my career, I have worked in and ran programs in San Diego, CA performing individual, group, couples, and family therapy with former foster youth, victims of domestic violence, and families involved with Child Welfare Services (CWS) across the ages of 4-65. My therapeutic approach is about meeting clients where they are at.
I take a nondirective stance of not telling people what to do but rather supporting them in their decisions. I played college and professional soccer in England, and with this background, I apply similar lessons to therapy, like placing importance on the mind-body connection. I am a father of two and enjoy soccer, golfing, and time with my family and dog.
