About
The clients I work with benefit the most when they embrace the comfort and discomfort that comes with building a therapeutic relationship. Reading all the blurbs is an excellent way to get brief insight into the character of a potential therapist, but whether or not someone will be a good fit is a difficult question with so many options. We know the relationship you build with your therapist is the largest indicator of success. With that in mind, go with your gut! Enjoy the process and embrace the change or help you seek.
My treatment approach is grounded in humanistic psychology, and I've helped treat all varieties of issues. Settings I've worked in include outpatient clinics, peoples homes, group homes, and educational settings, K-12. I have also taught at both College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State University, now Cal Poly Humboldt.
I love the work I do, and I hope you find a therapist that enjoys it too! Find out more about my style and rates by visiting my website (www.ianmackelvietherapy.com). Good luck on your journey.
