When it comes to sex and relationship problems, many of us lead lives of quiet desperation. Sometimes you can be lying in bed next to someone and feel a million miles apart. I am a licensed psychotherapist, specializing in couple therapy and sex therapy. I am the New York Times best-selling author of "She Comes First," and I regularly contribute to major publications such as The Atlantic, The Economist and CNN Health amongst others. Talking about sex and relationships is hard, but self-silencing is even harder. My approach is solutions-oriented, with an emphasis on honest communication, and I give homework in between sessions.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I am also certified by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). My practice is composed equally of heterosexual and LGBTQ patients and I also supervise other therapists. I focus on relationship issues and also problems that are common to the "American bedroom" like:
Sex ruts, low desire, mismatched libidos, sexual incompatibility, early ejaculation, erectile unpredictability, orgasm issues, porn problems, out of control sexual behaviors, sexual trauma, sex after infidelity, negotiating non-monogamy, positive communication, behavioral change and cultivating a healthy relationship that lends itself to a healthy sex life.
