Do you need a space to problem solve, slow down, and reflect with guidance from a clinical perspective? I am a clinician with over 12 years of experience providing person centered counseling and would like to help you discover how to find awareness and cope better. A raven is associated with loss; yet it's symbolism is complex. As a talking bird, it represents prophecy and insight which makes complex decisions and shows rich awareness. In my sessions, I like to focus on the entire person: the mind, body, and spirit. I do provide Christian counseling if that is something you are interested in. I offer therapy with individuals, couples, and families and am happy to say that I love the work I do. When you come to my office, you will be able to share the things in your life that you are struggling with and know that what you share will be met with compassion. You will be able to let me know what you would like to talk about during each session and what you would like to get out of therapy.

Not taking new clients currently; Will start taking clients January 2023. Hello my name is Shantila and as a therapist I do not believe that there is one counseling approach that works for every person, and for this reason, I take a more eclectic approach to work with my clients and select the method that allows me to best serve the needs of my clients. I am a strength based, person centered, trauma informed care provider who uses various evidence based therapeutic approaches that will best serve the clients I work with.

Accepting New Clients/short wait list. It can feel awful to struggle with crippling anxiety, depression, or the impacts of past trauma & abuse. Maybe it's a rough patch in your life or struggles in a relationship. Maybe you've struggled for so long it just feels the way it will always be. We all need help from time to time with our struggles, whether they are recent issues or long-term mental health challenges. You may not even be sure what the problem is, but you know there is a problem & you want to feel better. You want a non-judgmental, safe, empathetic, and skilled person who can help. I work with individuals (18+), & couples.

We all need help at some point in our lives. Feeling stuck is disorienting and sometimes it takes someone outside of your circumstances to help. Taking the step to reach out and ask for help is courageous, but can be nerve-racking too. Many people simply need a safe place to crash land and unpack some of life's hardships whether it's relationships, parenting, work stress, anxiety or depression.

Each of us can identify some aspect of our lives that we'd like to change. As your therapist, my intention is to help you learn about the therapeutic process and how it can help you identify the changes you'd like to make; collaborate with you in setting realistic, achievable goals for yourself; teach you to incorporate coping skills to ease through transitions; and fully support you while we walk this journey together. Above all else, your comfort is my priority, and I offer you compassion and understanding without judgment.

Other specialties include anxiety, depression, bipolar , and mood disorders.
I believe that everyone deserves a place to feel safe and heal and I pride myself in providing a warm and welcoming space to do just that. The experiences that we face daily shape our decisions as well as what we have been through. Not only do I understand both sides of the mental health chair, I believe that it can lead to learning from each other. I am focused on the betterment of my clients in any way possible. I use humor often and find it a useful tool in healing and processing life.

Bipolar Disorder Therapists
The defining feature of bipolar disorder is mania. It can be the triggering episode of the disorder, followed by a depressive episode, or it can first manifest after years of depressive episodes. The switch between mania and depression can be abrupt, and moods can oscillate rapidly. But while an episode of mania is what distinguishes bipolar disorder from depression, a person may spend far more time in a depressed state than in a manic or hypomanic one.
