Life can feel messy, heavy, or uncertain- and that’s okay. Therapy is a space where you get to be fully yourself: defining what’s working, what’s not, and where you want to go. It’s rooted in real connection, not quick fixes, and guided by the belief that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken, but rediscovering what’s already inside of you- resilience, clarity, and the strength to move forward. All parts of you are welcome- the messy, the heavy, and the hard to name. If anxiety, grief, trauma, or life changes leave you stuck, therapy can help you find your way.

In our busy and sometimes stressful lives, self-care is imperative. Tending to our own mental health may become necessary if the struggle becomes overwhelming to manage alone. Once you've made the decision that therapy is the next step for you, finding the right neutral, compassionate, non-judgmental and empathetic therapist is of the utmost importance. My mission is to build a therapeutic alliance with you using a collaborative approach to reach your goals. The evidence-based approaches and interventions that I use are designed to assist you in further identifying and tapping into the strengths you already possess.

Person-centered. Trauma-informed. Solution-focused. These are the words I choose most frequently to describe my work in the therapy room. My greatest desire is to hold space for every individual that enters space with me, and support each of them as they learn to hold space for themselves. It is my goal to create a counter-cultural environment that allows us to work together to support you, your partner and your family to work to create a healthier framework for your relationships with each other and with yourself.

You might be feeling stuck in the same relationship patterns—miscommunication, frustration, or not knowing how to set boundaries without things blowing up. Maybe you care deeply about your relationships, but something keeps getting in the way of them feeling healthy, stable, or fulfilling. Maybe you struggle with using pornography in a way which feels out of control, wrestling with feelings of shame, or noticing it negatively impacting relationships, motivation, or self-esteem. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and it’s something we can work through together in a space where we can talk openly, without judgment.

Many think of therapy, like car repair: find what’s broken and fix it. But mental health is more like a maze, full of twists, dead ends, and crossroads. As your therapist, I don’t have the “right” path—I’m here to walk the maze with you, offering tools, insight, and support as you choose your way forward, at your own pace. I also bring some of who I am into the room. I’m a gamer, and I love using games to connect creatively, especially with teens and young adults. This could mean playing a board game or getting out the PS5 in my office and playing Roblox! Therapy can be both serious and uniquely tailored to you.

Have you ever woken up and felt like getting out of bed was like trying to climb Mount Everest, but no one understood? Ever just thought about work and felt fear clawing at your chest and throat? Have you been told you were not “trying hard enough” or were just “unmotivated” or “lazy” when behind the scenes you try so hard it overwhelmed you? I have, and you are not alone. Now imagine waking up, jumping out of bed, feeling refreshed. Imagine knowing that despite the challenges you face you can succeed and it “fills you with determination”. Imagine that, even on the worse days, you know “this too shall pass”.

Please use email button for a faster response time. "What consumes your mind, controls your life" Are you or someone you know dealing with something right now that does not seem to end? Feeling like giving up? Frustrated? Afraid? Feeling confused and needing direction? Maybe you have been feeling like no one understands, or that you can handle it on your own. As much as we would all like to handle it on our own, the truth is everyone can use someone to talk with. I am a believer in experiences making you who you are. These experiences can either consume you, or shape you.

My therapeutic style is rooted in cultural sensitivity and a deep commitment to meeting people where they are. My work focuses on helping clients strengthen their mental resilience, manage stress and anxiety, and build confidence. I offer culturally responsive therapy that acknowledges the impact of systemic and generational factors, racial identity, and masculinity norms on emotional health. I also assist athletes in managing the pressures of competition, academic expectations, transitions, and injury recovery while applying evidence based techniques such as mindfulness, imagery, and cognitive reframing.

United Medical Resources (UMR) Therapists
Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
