I work with a variety of clients - individuals, couples, and families dealing with a variety of concerns regarding biological, psychological, social, and spiritual elements.
I believe that counseling is a process whereby a client voluntarily seeks to resolve interpersonal, emotional, and/or spiritual difficulties with the assistance of another caring individual. I will seek to empower you to make changes for the betterment of your life through a wellness model. I will do my best to offer you the highest ethical standards of care, to listen empathically to you, to persist in hope, to believe in your restoration, and to avoid all forms of judgement. My goal is for you to develop fresh perspectives, to bolster your self confidence in your existing capabilities, and to form a feasible plan of action.

Hi, I'm Pete. Therapy can mean different things to different people depending on your perspective. From mine, I'm here to help you reach the goals you're shooting for, and I'm not here to waste your time or tell you things you already know. I'll give you everything I've got to help you get where you're going. Relationship in real trouble? Feeling like you can't figure out who you are or want to be? Sounds heavy. I help with heavy.

Life is hard, especially when we do it alone. Let's do it together. My goal is to help you reach your goals, by facing your issues head on and with courage. While I am bold, I am equally gentle and strive to empower you to achieve hard things. My philosophy is if we don't take control of our issues, they may take control of us. I find great importance in walking alongside you in compassion and support while giving you a safe space to work toward the change you desire, so you can be the best version of yourself. You can do hard things and you don't have to do it alone!

I have a deep passion for working with adolescents and young adults as well as couples and families.
Do you feel heavy with life’s stressors or maybe you're realizing you have some deep-rooted issues from your past that need tending to? Do you avoid by stuffing your emotions down? Avoidance feels good in the moment but long term, it can impact our ability to function as it exacerbates our emotions and leads to things like anxiety, depression, anger, suicidal ideation, or even addiction. Having someone unbiased and safe to talk to can make a tremendous difference in our ability to cope and feel present for the beautiful things in life.

Please use email button for a faster response time. "What consumes your mind, controls your life" Are you or someone you know dealing with something right now that does not seem to end? Feeling like giving up? Frustrated? Afraid? Feeling confused and needing direction? Maybe you have been feeling like no one understands, or that you can handle it on your own. As much as we would all like to handle it on our own, the truth is everyone can use someone to talk with. I am a believer in experiences making you who you are. These experiences can either consume you, or shape you.

I help individuals and couples who feel stuck in painful, repeating patterns—such as persistent anxiety, the lasting impact of trauma and ongoing relationship struggles.
Many people who seek therapy are high achievers, caregivers, professionals or individuals navigating changes, relationship challenges, trauma, anxiety, burnout of identity concerns. Externally, they appear capable and successful, but internally feel overwhelmed, disconnected or stuck. They are ready to move beyond simply surviving and create a more fulfilling, balanced life. Therapy provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore patterns, build coping skills, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with their authentic selves, helping them move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and self-understanding.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, my approach is systemic, strengths based, and compassionately focused.
The 13th century poet Rumi asks, “What is love? Gratitude. What is hidden in our chests? Laughter. What else? Compassion.” If you are going through a major life event, experiencing increased stress, anxiety or depression, or feeling stuck in one of your relationships, let’s meet and together create a space for exploration, collaboration and healing.

I see couples, families, and individuals ages 13 and older.
Everyone we meet is fighting a unique battle, and has the innate capacity to face their challenges and reach their goals when they are prepared for self reflection and accountability. When we learn to view and understand our distinctive human natures, growth is possible. I will start wherever you are, taking time to consider your important life. I find authenticity as a therapist through an experiential approach and hope to provide you with genuine empathy and honest feedback while we create new experiences, face challenges, and grow together in the therapeutic space.

“Before you assist others, put your oxygen mask on first." Prioritizing your wellness is essential. Perhaps you feel pulled in a million directions or you have suffered a loss. Perhaps you are stuck in an unhealthy relationship or you constantly compare yourself to others. Breaking unhealthy cycles of thought can be life-changing.

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
