I believe that counseling is a process whereby a client voluntarily seeks to resolve interpersonal, emotional, and/or spiritual difficulties with the assistance of another caring individual. I will seek to empower you to make changes for the betterment of your life through a wellness model. I will do my best to offer you the highest ethical standards of care, to listen empathically to you, to persist in hope, to believe in your restoration, and to avoid all forms of judgement. My goal is for you to develop fresh perspectives, to bolster your self confidence in your existing capabilities, and to form a feasible plan of action.

Exhausted? Overwhelmed? Irritated? Life is hard. Plain and simple. Situations and circumstances so often drive us in a direction we weren't prepared. So many of us have a hard time figuring out what to do in these moments. I work with first responders, medical workers, college students, individuals in difficult relationships, parents, pregnant women, postpartum, LGBTQ+ persons, other therapists, and so many others who find themselves in a place that feels confusing or frustrating. Negative mental health can come in forms that we didn't know existed - until we're there. Clients I work with just need to talk to an unbiased ear.

I have supported men, women, non-binary persons and children throughout the realms of parenthood, foster care, adoption (both international and domestic) and surrogacy.
Feeling overwhelmed? Exhausted? On edge? The process of pregnancy and postpartum is so hard - even on the best day. A lot of time your mental health and sense-of-self goes on the backburner while you are attempting to get pregnant or care for everyone else around you. It is stressful and there are so many new experiences in which people expect you to be the expert. I have worked with many people surrounding family planning, pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, loss, abortion, adoption and parenting. From both personal and professional life, I know how tough it can truly be.

I believe that the essence of life is Divine and that all good flows from that source. Thus, any strength that emerges in my work occurs as I align myself with Divine love, wisdom, and purpose. Holism describes my perspective, thus systematically exploring many areas of a client's life helps prepare the ground for resolving current problematic issues or for encouraging and supporting growth and transformation.

My passion in life is to help you thrive. My approach to marriage, family, and relationships is unique because I am keenly aware of how your view of the world, yourself, and how you view others affects all aspects of your life and your relationships. I'm a compassionate straight shooter who will help you reshape your past and set a firm foundation for the future. Domestic Abuse Therapists
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
