I believe that counseling is a process whereby a client voluntarily seeks to resolve interpersonal, emotional, and/or spiritual difficulties with the assistance of another caring individual. I will seek to empower you to make changes for the betterment of your life through a wellness model. I will do my best to offer you the highest ethical standards of care, to listen empathically to you, to persist in hope, to believe in your restoration, and to avoid all forms of judgement. My goal is for you to develop fresh perspectives, to bolster your self confidence in your existing capabilities, and to form a feasible plan of action.

Life can feel messy, heavy, or uncertain- and that’s okay. Therapy is a space where you get to be fully yourself: defining what’s working, what’s not, and where you want to go. It’s rooted in real connection, not quick fixes, and guided by the belief that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken, but rediscovering what’s already inside of you- resilience, clarity, and the strength to move forward. All parts of you are welcome- the messy, the heavy, and the hard to name. If anxiety, grief, trauma, or life changes leave you stuck, therapy can help you find your way.

Relationships can be one of the greatest sources of connection, meaning, and support in our lives, and they can also become places where we feel stuck, disconnected, misunderstood, or alone. Many couples find themselves caught in recurring cycles of conflict, communication breakdowns, emotional distance, resentment, or difficulty rebuilding trust after hurt. Therapy can provide a space to slow these patterns down, better understand one another, and begin creating new ways of relating.

You’ve done meaningful work on yourself, yet something still isn’t settling. Your body reacts as if the past isn’t over—patterns show up in relationships, tension, shutdown, or sudden emotional overwhelm—and you’re tired of looping through the same responses. You want deeper change: not just insight, but something that actually shifts how you feel and respond in real time. You may already sense that talking alone hasn’t been enough, and you’re ready for therapy that works beneath the surface.

I specialize in relational issues and trauma but have worked with a range of issues including life transitions, depression, eating disorders, chronic illness, pregnancy loss, divorce and a variety of other mental health concerns.
Most of us were never taught how to build healthy, fulfilling relationships, with others or with ourselves. It takes courage to pause, examine what isn’t working, and choose a different path. I work with individuals, couples, and families who feel stuck in conflict, emotional distance, anxiety, resentment, or disconnection. Together, we identify the patterns and protective strategies that keep you repeating the same cycles, and we begin shifting them in real time. Clients often describe leaving sessions feeling more grounded, emotionally clear, and able to respond from intention rather than fear or reactivity.

Currently accepting new clients. The most powerful predictor of whether therapy will be effective is your relationship with your therapist. Finding the right one can feel overwhelming. My approach is warm, empathetic and straightforward. I am accepting and direct in nature while focusing on strengths and growth. I do not "beat around the bush" as they say, while also being understanding and kind.

Divorce Therapists
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
