My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT).
If you’ve experienced trauma, you may feel stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand. Perhaps you are overwhelmed by emotions, constantly on edge, disconnected from yourself, or questioning your worth. Trauma can shape the way we see ourselves, others, and the world. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. I provide an affirming, inclusive space that honors LGBTQ+ identities and diverse cultural backgrounds.

Have you ever looked around and thought, "How is everyone else keeping it together?" Meanwhile, you're carrying the weight of past experiences, taking care of everyone else's needs, and wondering when it's finally your turn to feel okay. Maybe you've spent years surviving. Pushing through. Being the strong one. But somewhere along the way, you've lost sight of what you need, what you value, and who you are outside of the roles you play for everyone else. This is where therapy can help. I am passionate about helping people heal from trauma, reconnect with their strengths, and build a life that feels aligned with what matters most.

Food and body image are difficult topics. Many experience criticism, frustration, and feeling incompetent with their bodies. Food becomes the enemy, movement feels impossible. We get so many messages from society and it can be hard to navigate it all. It's easy to feel like a failure. I am here to say finding peace with our bodies is possible. Guilt doesn't have to be part of our relationship to food and movement. It may look different than what is your current normal, and you may feel unsure about how to make it make sense for your life. We can navigate all of this together.

I am originally from WA and a U.S. Army veteran. I have become a licensed clinical social worker or LCSW in Texas with six years of working in the mental health field. I have been a social worker going on five years. I am also licensed in Washington, Iowa & South Dakota as a clinical social worker in private practice. My goal is trying to bring mental health services to more communities. I am a huge advocate for spending time outside and learning self-care. It's officially July, which means summer is in full swing! Summer can be thought of as a carefree season, and it definitely can be, but real life doesn't always improve just because the weather does. Maybe there are habits you'd like to change, challenges you're tired of carrying alone, or goals that have been on the back burner for too long. Whatever it is that brings you to therapy, I'm glad you're here. We can figure it out together!

Life can bring many challenges, struggles, and difficult times. All of us have had seasons when we felt stuck and hopeless and in need of a starting point for healing and recovery. There are times when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or difficult to make sense of. You might be dealing with anxiety, burnout, or relationship stress—or finding yourself asking deeper questions about who you are, what you want, and what truly matters. I enjoy helping people build lives that feel more aligned with who they are, while also examining the patterns, choices, and values that shape their experiences. Therapy isn’t just about symptom relief—it’s also an opportunity to gain clarity, strengthen your sense of self, and move forward with greater intention.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
