Life is a journey and there are many obstacles to overcome. My goal is to help clients who are struggling with day to day issues and things they have pushed way down deep inside. I like to work with adult clients (over the age of 23) and I feel I do really good work with the bumps and bruises in life that cause anxiety, depression, grief, and many other feelings that people don't like to feel or talk about. I also work with substance abuse clients that are trying to find better coping skills than the substance they abuse. I believe everyone has the right to find and feel some happiness and joy in their lives!

Finding the right therapist is like finding a great pair of hiking boots. You know you want to go on a journey and your boots need to fit right, handle different terrain, and take you the distance. Sometimes you may even need to try on a few different pairs. As a practice owner and therapist, I think my skill lies in matching you with someone in my group or in the community who can take you the distance with the right combination or personality, style, and technical skill. While I am not currently taking new clients, please reach out, and let's have a conversation about who might be your ideal fit.

If you've landed here, chances are something has felt off for a while.
Maybe you've been managing — juggling work, relationships, family, and your own inner world — but lately the juggling feels less like a skill and more like a survival strategy. Maybe you have made a decision to make a change, or a shift in your life has happened and you're sitting with a mix of relief and overwhelm, wondering what it actually means for your life. Maybe you just know, deep down, that you're ready to stop white-knuckling it and start building something that actually works.
That's what I'm here for.

You’re a smart, capable woman who holds it together for everyone else while your mind won’t quit. Intrusive “what-ifs,” constant overchecking, 3 a.m. wakeups, snapping then feeling awful, crowded stores that feel like too much—you’re exhausted by the noise in your head. You want fewer spirals, steadier sleep, clear decisions, and patience with the people you love. You don’t want jargon; you want simple tools that work in real life. My work helps you quiet anxiety, trust yourself again, and feel steady most days.

I practice client-centered therapy and believe my clients are the expert in their therapeutic journey. I strive to meet my clients where they are and help them gain the skills and knowledge they need to get to where they want to be. I am experienced working with Adults, adolescents, and families. My style is nontraditional, and I am often told I do not fit the picture my clients have of a Therapist. I gained my knowledge working in Community Mental Health and have worked with clients with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, BPD, Bipolar Disorder, and co-occurring substance use disorders.

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
