I have an extensive background in theater and the arts. I incorporate nature, animals, drama, art and play into my therapies with clients. My work also focuses on treating PTSD and anxiety. I am a Registered Play Therapist with a background working with children with attachment deficits/Reactive Attachment Disorder, ODD, ADHD, Adjustment Disorder, Anxiety Disorders and behavioral/emotional issues that they are struggling with managing in school, home and community settings. I utilize play therapy approaches as well as EMDR in my work with children, youth and families and place a strong emphasis on family collaboration/support due to the ongoing stressors that occur in families who have a child with special needs. This includes incorporating biological families, foster families and/or adoptive families into treatment.

The therapists at United Action for Youth have a unique ability to engage teenagers in individual adolescent psychotherapy. They balance listening with talking; they don't lecture or blame; they tailor their style to increase the youth's comfort. UAY therapists have expertise in the areas that are common concerns for teens, parents, and young adults. Although our focus is serving youth 10-25, we can also provide services for adults if space is available.

I became a therapist with a goal to intervene at early ages with children/youth who are at risk with the hopes to minimize long term behavioral issues that lead into criminal behavior.
