I specialize in working with active-duty military, veterans, police officers, firefighters, EMS, and other first responders who experience PTSD, anxiety, depression, operational stress, and burnout.

Life ever feel like one giant group project where you’re doing all the work? Or like you’re trying to keep 50 tabs open in your brain—and everything keeps freezing? Maybe you’re snapping at people you care about, crying in the shower, or just feeling blah when you used to feel alive. You don’t have to keep pushing through on empty. Therapy with me is a place to drop the armor. We’ll sort through the chaos, laugh when we can, cry when we need to, and figure out what actually helps you feel lighter. Together, we’ll uncover what matters most to you and help you move forward with confidence and a renewed sense of hope.

Where to begin? This question is so frequently asked and the answer is more simple than most think. The answer is to begin by allowing someone to help. Just allowing someone to provide you a space where you can begin your journey with support and acceptance. At the Center For Healing And Hope, therapy provides an environment of acceptance and understanding in which you and your therapist can work together to address any difficulties or challenges you may be facing.

Individuals who feel bound by the invisible Band-Aid may struggle to express themselves with others. Sometimes, we have problematic problems, and sometimes, we have typical responses to abnormal events, and that’s where I come into play. My role as a therapist is to tailor therapy to your needs, combining psychoeducation and evidence-based interventions to move you toward healing and growth. The decision to go to therapy can be difficult. I believe it is a privilege to work alongside individuals on their journey to overcoming life’s challenges.

It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help & when one does I honor that! Life is messy & people come in with a host of issues. As we work together I validate their life experiences & together we examine what works in their life & what doesn't. Together we explore themes & patterns that may have isolated them & kept them in a narrative that may perpetuate pain, heartache, grief, loss, anxiety, depression or an addiction. Together we create a plan to recalibrate their life.

My ideal patient is an adolescent or adult navigating anxiety, trauma, OCD, mood challenges, or identity concerns. Many feel stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand and want deeper insight into how their past, relationships, and inner conflicts shape their present. Some are also exploring questions of faith or spiritual identity. I offer a depth-oriented, faith-friendly space for clients seeking more than symptom relief—lasting growth, emotional clarity, and a stronger, more grounded sense of self. They’re ready to do meaningful work and want a therapist who can hold both clinical complexity and human nuance.

Oppositional Defiance (ODD) Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for oppositional defiant disorder?
The treatment of Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) will involve multiple approaches designed to help both the youngster and their parents, sometimes including medication. A therapist will help a child learn ways to regulate their emotions, curb their impulsiveness, and counteract anger, defiance, and disruption, while showing parents ways to bring these lessons into their home. A technique designed for children with conditions like ODD, known as Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS), may also be used. CPS addresses a child’s concerns and rewards appropriate responses while discouraging harsh punishment or criticism.

How does treatment for oppositional defiant disorder work?
Treatment for ODD addresses the issues underlying a child’s defiance and disruption, the emotional regulation and impulse-control skills they lack, and the way adults respond to them. ODD therapy is based on the idea that children with the disorder understand the difference between right and wrong, that they want to behave well, and that, with help, they can. By responding to the child with empathy instead of harsh criticism, ignoring nonviolent behaviors, and rewarding positive actions, a therapist, and the other adults in a child’s life, can help children improve their behavior.

How long does therapy for oppositional defiant disorder take?
Therapy for oppositional defiant disorder is not a short-term undertaking. Depending on the severity of a child’s symptoms, their age, the presence of other conditions like ADHD, anxiety or a mood disorder, and their family dynamic, it can take months before improvement is noted. The cooperation of parents and teachers is crucial, because the skills learned in therapy must be practiced in real-world situations, with all their potential triggers.

Does oppositional defiant disorder go away?
ODD can remit following treatment. ODD is often diagnosed in nursery school, and early intervention is essential for a positive prognosis. In two-thirds of children, according to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, symptoms resolve within three years.
