Hello, dear reader. My name is Dr. Nápoles. Clients refer to me as Dr. Nap. I am a bilingual psychologist (English/Spanish) who specializes in the treatment of anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, illness anxiety disorder (i.e., hypochondriasis), and gender dysphoria. Regarding the latter, my clinical work focuses on, but is not limited to, adults or adolescents (age 15+) who wish to explore their gender identity and/or sexual orientation, adults contemplating or undergoing gender transitioning, a parent anxious about their child transitioning, and most recently, a person detransitioning.
I conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for gender dysphoria and I provide individual, couples, and family therapy services to those aged 15(+), depending on goodness-to-fit with my therapy style. I would best characterize my therapy style as “cerebral,” “analytical,” and “existential.”
