I use Solution-Focused, Person-Centered, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies to help each client meet their goals.

In my experience working in the mental health field for the last decade, therapy is often sought after someone has suffered long enough or until the symptoms become unmanageable. It is my hope that as we continue to destigmatize mental health more people can feel comfortable utilizing this valuable service as a preventative measure and not as a last resort. My approach as a therapist is simple: helping others increase awareness and insight into their thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

I have a passion for working with people from various backgrounds, cultures, and age groups from adolescence all the way through end of life. I enjoy assisting individuals and couples who struggle with depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, eating disorders, life transition, and self-esteem concerns. I also have several years of experience walking alongside clients who struggle with thoughts of suicide, irrational thought patterns, and self-injury. My goal is to improve the quality of life, by focusing on past and present painful situations and trauma, to eliminate road blocks to a happier life.

The focus of my work as a clinical psychologist for over 27 yrs has been to actively engage with my clients to help them develop a feeling of personal competency and positive self-worth, and an ability to deeply understand where they have been, where they are now, and where they want to go. I strive to provide a safe and nurturing relationship so each person can explore and expand their own creativity in resolving emotional conflicts and difficulties, understanding problems in couple, family, friendship and workplace relationships, making important life decisions and coping with issues of aging.

With an educational background in Criminal Justice and Social Work, Belinda is also a committed member of the National Association of Social Workers. Belinda has 5 years of experience in a variety of settings such as, child welfare, crisis counseling, adoption services and school settings. Belinda works with a variety of clients, including adolescents, young adults and women suffering from domestic violence and sexual assault. Belinda uses trauma-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, parent-child psychotherapy, while also incorporating meditative practices, relaxation techniques and similar strategies.
