The ideal client is someone who is ready and willing to do the work necessary for change, but if you need motivation I can help with that too. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and can work with many presenting concerns ranging from trauma to spirituality to anxiety to addiction to divorce. I believe that counseling is a collaborative process in which your feedback and engagement is necessary in the change process. I will always do what I can, but the ultimate change comes from the trust built in session and the work you put in as a client.
I have been trained in Functional Family Therapy, EMDR, and DBT, and received my MS in Counselor Education focused in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I typically approach counseling from a holistic, eclectic, and integrated viewpoint with a trauma-informed perspective. My strengths are empathy, understanding, patience, flexibility, and providing support.
I start from a client-centered and holistic approach and will utilize different theories and techniques that best fit each client. As we get to know each other, and I get familiar with your story, we will determine the best approach. If there is ever anything I am doing that is not working or not liked, I encourage client's feedback and we adjust as needed.
