In therapy, my style is to act as a Guide, not as an Expert. YOU are the expert on YOU! I believe that it is often problematic when others, (including Therapists), try to tell Clients what they should Think, Feel and Do. This is especially true, if they don't even really know you. My goal is to NEVER do this to YOU! I will always strive to give you the right to be yourself and to make your own choices, when YOU are ready! I will do my best to understand you and what is most important to you. I will support you in your efforts to be the person that you want to be and to have the life you want to live! I am a seasoned therapist with 25+ years of experience working in community mental health, hospital, child welfare, and private practice settings; I have both direct practice and supervisory experience. I currently enjoy dividing my caseload between working with children, adolescents, parents and families and working with individual adults and couples. I believe in helping people of all ages to continue learning and developing throughout their lives. I use play therapy with young children; I use behavioral and solution focused treatment with all clients.; for adults and adolescents more insight oriented approaches are available.

I am committed to supporting my clients ability to grow and change. As a Humanist, I believe that people are always striving to succeed, but at times are blocked by fears, doubts and loss of clear identity. I see my clients as collaborators in the therapeutic process, and together we create a personal path for healing and growth, that incorporates soundly researched therapeutic techniques.

I work with adults (ages 18 and up) in a private practice setting. I see clients in person and via telehealth. I have worked in private practice for over a decade and work with a variety of populations. My specialties include, but are not limited to: Eating Disorders: Compulsive Overeating/Binge Eating, Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa, Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment Disorders, Relationship/ Marital issues, Stress Management/Wellness, Grief & Loss, Mood Disorders and Trauma.

Welcome! We provide traditional and holistic healing for mind, body & spirit health. We work with individuals, couples, families & groups age 5 and up. The facility is located on a main street with free parking. This is a private practice with a private waiting room in a very comfortable & soothing setting. Look for the yellow house with raspberry trim. Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. When you call, we will do a brief intake, verify your insurance benefits & schedule your first appointment. We do not have a waiting list and can schedule your first appointment within the same week.

I have been in practice for 39 years. I treat children with behavioral problems, children-teens-adults with depression, sleep disorders, panic/anxiety attacks, bipolar disorder, phobias, family conflicts, coping skills, academic issues, special education consulting, Employee Assistance, marital/couples counseling. Therapeutic approaches are designed specifically for the individual. Play therapy is generally used with children. I set goals to measure progress and modify treatment based on how goals are/are not met. I like to focus on short term therapy to teach individuals better coping skills to use outside of the office.

I have been working in the mental health field for nearly two decades, with a diverse array of clients: adults, adolescents, children, families, couples, groups, foster care, substance abuse, mental illness and more. I offer telehealth services and/or my office is conveniently located near public transportation and off street parking. I offer day, and evening appointments and will work with you, or your insurance, to assure coverage. While a person can feel better after a good talk with a friend or relative, for moderate or severe emotional distress, this relief is only temporary.
