I believe that through experiences we learn, grow, and develop. Sometimes we need help sorting through our feelings and emotions so that we will be able to reach our full potential. Past or current trauma can be a huge obstacle to setting goals and keeping them. I specialize in helping adults and children work through trauma by teaching the skills needed to successfully move through the trauma in a safe and positive environment. To be able to set goals and be successful at achieving those goals, you must feel safe and nurtured in order to focus on everyday tasks.
It is important that you are able to share their thoughts, feelings, hopes, and dreams with someone who makes them feel safe. Let's schedule an initial session and see if you or your child would benefit from therapy with me.
My approach to counseling is setting the tone of solution-focused. We will set goals for you and discuss ways to achieve those goals by practicing self-care and using tools that are developed throughout our session.
