Hello, I'm Marita Tiller. A warm welcome to you as you review therapists and begin your counseling experience. My heart is always to help, to have compassion, to understand, and to connect you to skills and insights that can change your life. My specialty is trauma. I believe the brain has the ability to re-wire and to disperse memories into the whole brain so past trauma doesn't overwhelm and control you or compel you to avoid experiences in life. I have seen EMDR do great things and I have seen people become free from the chains of their past. It would be my pleasure to help you through whatever it is that brought you here.
As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I see trauma symptoms as amazing adaptations people make to survive in the past, which now don't feel so helpful. You can learn how to "re-adapt" to your current, safer environment and replace the old responses with healthy ones. Trauma work is hard work so we will go at the pace that works for you.
I would also love to engage with you in self-development work; to conquer behaviors that hold you back and foster what I believe you already have inside you to grow and bloom. Whatever the issue, I take a compassionate and supportive view and believe in you.
