It is my belief that the most healing aspect of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. For it is only through this foundation that our deepest and most personal wounds can be healed. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families and teens and helping patients gain a greater understanding of themselves and the important people in their life. My goal is to empower patients to be vulnerable and honest with themselves and others and thereby make healthy life choices and impact change in their relationships.
My general approach is Humanistic ( helping clients feel safe to explore difficult topics), Cognitive Behavioral (understanding negative thinking patterns) and Insight oriented (understanding the role of the past in present day choices). I tailor the treatment approach to a clients' specific needs and goals.
My clients report feeling safe, empowered ,and having a better understanding of their issues and the tools needed to move forward. I am directive but respectful of each clients right to move in the direction they feel is best for him or herself.
