I am a licensed Mairrage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience working with individuals, couples , familes and teens. I have worked in several treatment facilities and facilitated groups for depression, anxiety and eating disorders. I enjoy helping clients gain a greater understanding of themselves and the important people in their life. My goal is to empower clients to be vulnerable and honest with themselves and others. This often allows clients to make life choices that are in alignment with their values and experience growth in their life and their relationships.
My general approach is Client- centered and I use a combination of CBT techniques (understanding negative thinking patterns) , DBT relaxation techniques and Insight oriented therapy. In working with teens and couples , communication skills is often an important part of treatment. I tailor the treatment approach to a clients' specific needs and goals.
My clients report feeling safe, empowered ,and having a better understanding of their issues and the tools needed to move forward. I am directive but respectful of each clients right to move in the direction they feel is best for him or herself. "Your struggles do not define you." is a philosophy I have regarding therapy.
