Thank you for reading about my practice. I hope this profile gives you a glimpse of how I view the experience of therapy and what it might be like to work with me.
Often when we seek out psychotherapy, it's because we feel stuck in patterns that are restrictive and frustrating. Perhaps we've lost sight of what is meaningful in our lives or need space or encouragement to articulate what we want for ourselves. Unsure how to make our daily lives reflect what we most value, we may feel sad, anxious, or overwhelmed.
The therapy room can provide a safe space where we can learn to relate to ourselves, and to others, with authenticity and compassion. Becoming aware, in the moment, of what keeps us stuck can give us the opportunity to respond to situations with intentionality, instead of repeating unhelpful old patterns.
I believe that a caring, honest relationship between therapist and client is essential for exploring new ways of being and relating. I like to introduce mindfulness into sessions as a way of slowing down and coping with difficult thoughts or emotions. Please feel welcome to contact me with any questions.
