Because we are unique and complex people I choose a holistic and individualized counseling approach. I am both a traditional "talk therapist" and an expressive arts therapist specializing in art therapy. I have 20 years of experience in the mental health field working in various treatment setting with teens and adults. I help people gain insight, awareness, emotional release, problem solving and coping skills. I have considerable experience in treating emotional disturbances, trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders and anxiety. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy and psychodynamics; I use both approaches.
I am a NH licensed mental health counselor. I obtained a Master's Degree at Lesley University in counseling/psychology in expressive therapies. Expressive Therapies is defined as using art and/or writing/poetry, music, movement and psychodrama. My primary treatment modality is art therapy. I provide individual and family therapy.
I offer a unique and creative form of therapy. This treatment involves: telling one's story; exploration that embraces all the senses; releasing, expressing and processing emotions in acceptable ways; connecting and mapping the inner world. Expressive Therapies can be helpful for treatment resistance and verbally limited individuals.
