I am trained in and practice EMDR as well as somatic and parts work to facilitate understanding and processing.
People seek therapy for many different needs: to develop skills and resources, to have space to process and unpack, and to receive support with navigating life transitions and challenges. My goal as a therapist is to support you with whatever you may be carrying. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process and I trust that you ultimately have the answers. Focus areas of my work include trauma recovery, work with neurodivergent folks, and the LGBTQIA+ community. I enjoy working with people in process of exploring and embracing sense of identity.

I can be quite eclectic with treatment modalities; however, I often use EMDR, CBT, and DBT techniques.
Often there are times when nothing really seems wrong in our lives, yet there is this sadness or anger, and we don't know where it comes from. Therapy can be beneficial in working on our known difficulties and the areas of ourselves that we need to become more familiar with. As a therapist, I aim to guide you toward healing, develop new skills and insights, and work collaboratively to produce the changes you want to see.

By building a supportive therapeutic relationship, along with using evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Mindfulness: I assist clients with learning to manage their emotions, effectively communicate, build healthy relationships and achieve self-acceptance.
“Empowerment cannot exist without accountability.” When we reclaim our story we take back our power, we begin to heal and transform the narrative. I would love to be part of reshaping your story into one that is worthy of you. I am a licensed mental health counselor with experience: treating depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and trauma. I am aware of the emotional distress related to systematic oppression often inflicted on people of color and marginalized groups: I address these experiences with compassion, sensitivity and honesty in session.

I offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and EMDR in addition to other modalities.
Are you feeling anxious, depressed or overwhelmed with an unwanted change, unmet expectations, or a significant health diagnosis such as cancer or a chronic illness? These experiences impact how we cope and live our lives. Healing is not always linear, but it is possible; finding a therapist that you connect well with and where you feel comfortable is a vital part of that healing. People can sometimes struggle to find a space that is just theirs to be able to process the good, the bad and the in between... but our sessions together can be just that. Your space and time to have a moment to focus on your needs.

I am also, trained as an EMDR therapist.
My practice is dedicated to helping one individual at a time. It is centered on each individual's unique experiences and needs. I work with each clients to determine what they are struggling with and discuss what they hope to accomplish by seeking out psychotherapy. For some of my clients, it might be improving the life they already have, and for others it is treatment of anxiety, depression, or coping with loss, or other life crisis.

Thus, my approach is integrative and experiential, including AEDP, CBT, EFT, EMDR, IFS, mindfulness meditation, and other evidence-based therapies.
I believe we all want to feel safe, to feel genuinely seen, to have meaningful connection, to be able to weather challenges, and to feel, deep down, that we are good enough and not alone. When we better understand our inner patterns and all our parts feel welcome and seen, then we can tap into the natural ability of our brains and bodies to learn and transform. Beneath our protective defenses and habits, I believe every one of us is curious, courageous, loving, and worthy of love. As flowers turn toward the sun, humans are evolved for resilience. I work closely with clients to rediscover their natural inner resources for healing.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
