Hi, my name is Sejal Patel. I am a LMFT in North and South Carolina and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidate. My greatest strength is my innate compassion, empathy, and creative ability to present information tactfully that empowers my clients' autonomy.

Life is about transitions, big and small, which we are expected to navigate without a playbook and we do until we get stuck and overwhelmed. Getting the right help is pivotal to move us forward. I am licensed to provide both mental health and addiction counseling in NC, with 20yrs experience. My specialties: trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, family stress, LGBTQA+, grief/loss, inter-generational cultural issues, and premarital counseling. My lived experience as a first generation South Asian immigrant, a working parent, who has faced transitions to seek meaningful growth, shapes my authentic counseling style.

Through great pain comes better awareness and understanding about ourselves and the world around us. My journey as a counselor began during my experience with war deployments, which inspired my search to find ways to help others who are hurting. After completing my Master's degrees in Couples and Family Counseling, I have worked extensively with the court system, with families in need, and with individuals of all ages. My other passion in life is speaking and learning more Spanish. I offer therapy sessions to adults, children, families, and couples. I am a certified hypnotherapist.

I am an experienced psychotherapist who provides therapy to individuals, couples & families in North Carolina and Florida with a variety of struggles. I am a Social Justice Oriented & LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapist & practice anti-racist principles. I specialize working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction & relationship distress. My services encourage increased personal happiness & health & emotional connection. I believe that as people become more accepting of themselves, & more aware of their thoughts, emotions & actions, they are more capable of making decisions which lead to happiness & fulfillment.

I have been practicing psychotherapy for 30 years. I have experience with a wide range of issues. I am most effective with anxiety related disorders and mood disorders. I have extensive training in mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy and utilize that approach most often. I find that I am able to connect with a wide range of clients and issues due to my many years of practice. I consider it an honor and a privilege to assist people meet their goals and make any life adjustments they bring.
