Deciding to seek help from a therapist can be complicated. Often the decision to do so is made reluctantly, after many unsuccessful attempts at managing difficulty on one's own. Perhaps you have reached a point where you realize your problems are beyond what you can tackle alone, but you are ambivalent about trying therapy because it is not clear what therapy really is or how it can help. I get that. I hope to demystify and simplify the therapy process to the extent possible.
I focus on the impact that thoughts have on feelings and behaviors, on ways of managing relationships, on trying to "be with" and even accept unpleasant thoughts and feelings by learning to attend to the present moment, and on the ways in which current difficulties may stem from earlier experiences. Life comes crashing down on us all at some point.
