I believe instilling hope should be one of the top focuses of therapy. As long as you have hope, together we can focus on your strengths to achieve your goals. We are all human and experience different emotional changes throughout our lifetimes. Sometimes it is difficult to address these issues with family or friends; it may be easier to have an impartial, unbiased person with whom to talk through these issues. Together we can develop goals and tackle them one by one, at a pace that is comfortable and appropriate.
I enjoy working with children, pre-teens, teens and young adults. However, I do have experience with all ages! My background in Community Mental Health has given me experience with Mood Disorders, depression, social skills, maladaptive behavior, and self-esteem.
My education, personal and professional experiences have led me to an integrated approach to therapy. Our sessions may include techniques from a variety of counseling approaches, including (but not limited to) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Counseling, Gestalt Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy.
