Life satisfaction is directly linked to how we cope with life's challenges. When we participate in escapist behavior (drinking too much, overindulging on sugar, avoiding confrontation, Netflix binges), we can feel stuck and hopeless. We get caught in these painful ways of coping because they work - at least temporarily. I specialize in helping clients get unstuck by incorporating brain-based education, support and practical suggestions for change.
Relationships, especially the one with yourself, are impacted by early caregivers. And relationships can be challenging when there’s a history of neglect or abuse in the family. One of my specialties is helping clients heal from childhood trauma so a person can walk with less shame and self criticism and more confidence and peace.
Therapy is effective and it works. We all have something to address at some point in our lives. Therapy also requires a bit of bravery to examine your life on a deeper level and I have a lot of respect for those who choose to heal. It’s a simple process but hardly easy, which is why I'm here to help.
