Counselor, MA, LMHC, RYT
Today’s uncertain future and perfection-driven culture makes many of us uncomfortable in our minds and bodies, not to mention the day to day difficulty of being human. Yet life is more than suffering, and we are not made to do it alone. With the help of someone who gets how hard life can be, it is possible to feel safe, confident and comfortable in our skins, forgive ourselves for past mistakes, and build a future we look forward to. Let’s work together to slowly stop reliving the unpleasant past, and fear of the future, through a variety of powerful methods.
I specialize in play therapy with kids aged 3-12 and am EMDR-trained for kids, teens and adults. Whether you and/or your family member suffers from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, unhealthy relationships, communication difficulties, creative slumps, past trauma, and/or undesirable behaviors, Open Door Counseling can support you.
Some people hold judgments and opinions about mental health and what kind of person seeks therapy. Everyone deserves to be heard, seen, understood and unconditionally accepted, no matter what anyone else thinks. I know reaching out is an act of courage, and I will honor your privacy and bravery for doing so. Please contact me to see if we're a good fit.
