My name is Hilary Chentow and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I live outside Philadelphia but have roots in Seattle. I am licensed in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. I am seeking clients who are ready to do the work to make changes in their lives. An ideal client is deeply curious and a bit nerdy. I have a special affinity for the LGBTQIA+ community. But feel most comfortable with clients who may be living with anxiety, depression, trauma history, and stress and want to explore tools to improve symptoms to find joy and connection.
I use humor, irreverence, and a "we" approach to therapy. I try to create an environment of warmth and approachability to make therapy more relatable. I believe the connection between therapist and client can model how to have healthy relationships with friends, family, and co-workers.
My journey to become a therapist is guided by my first career as an educator. I am a teacher and a therapist. I believe most of us lack the language and skills and don't have the time in our busy schedules to take on one more thing.
