I truly enjoy working with people who believe a better life is possible, but lack the tools, self-esteem or support needed to interrupt unhelpful patterns and embody a meaningful existence. In my playroom, kids learn to communicate, manage behaviors, grow confidence, problem solve, express themselves and relate to others in healthy ways. Willing caregivers learn the language of behavior and play to connect more deeply with their children and themselves. Adults who meet with me can let their guard down and rebuild their sense of self after harmful relationships, painful events or difficulties feeling comfortable in their own skin.
I have trained extensively in child development, play therapy for ages 2-12, trauma-informed care, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Gestalt Therapy and yoga. Clients deserve freedom and agency in their treatment, and we can utilize breath, EMDR, symbol, movement, writing, play, art, conversation and imagination to discover what soothes.
It takes vulnerability to ask for help from a stranger, and this courage is rare. But sharing your life with someone who understands how impossible it feels to face things alone, and who manages to find some humor and beauty in the chaos, can be a much-needed relief.
