I have doctoral training in Clinical Social Work. I provide therapy, counseling, and support that is client-focused and family-centered. I am a certified mental health trainer.

I have been in practice since 1981 and particularly enjoy working with clients experiencing life transitions as a result of life events such as divorce, death of a loved one, retirement, career transitions, midlife, etc.and with folks who identify as feeling anxious and depressed, experiencing multiple losses and trying to forge new identities. I work with individuals, couples and families with a wide age range. I am particularly well suited to working with adolescents, young adults and seniors. I also have a long standing specialty in working with disordered eating syndromes.

I specialize in working with young adults struggling with anxiety and depression during times of significant life transition and stress. I also greatly enjoy working with teens and have expertise in a broad range of complex behavioral and adjustment issues, including anxiety, depression, anger, defiance, behavioral concerns, ADHD, autism spectrum, and developmental disorders. I am also passionate about working with parents to help them navigate the milestones and challenges of parenting, providing a safe, supportive space in which parents can learn to navigate the challenges that naturally arise when raising children.

I work with clients to create a safe and affirming relationship so that there is room for healing and growth. My work with each client is unique, however central to my work is respect for your issues, concerns, and the challenges you face in your life. I see therapy as a partnership where we work together to create the changes that you are seeking in your life. Randy has arrived at the career he was always meant to have-helping others live well. He served over 21 years in the Air Force in the enlisted ranks and officer ranks. He then worked for a number of companies supporting various Intelligence Agencies. In 2012, he went back to school at the University of Maryland, Baltimore for his Master's in Social Work, graduating in 2014. Randy is a proud father of two sons, a stepdaughter, a daughter-in-law and the grandfather of three young boys. He's married to Karen Hott and lives in Grasonville, Maryland.
